  1. You are welcome
  2. It made sense to me, you forgot to include. The redirection of gases helps stabilize the barrel "if" the brake is designed "properly". And that reduces "felt" recoil. The larger pressure rounds benefit more than the lower ones. Don’t take a brake designed for a 338 lupa and expect the same results on a 308. You are not an ass hole. Just have a passion larger than most and don’t mind saying so. Me 2 <thumbsup> Regards Mike
  3. You could make the p mag anything you want under 20 rounds, remove the bottom cap, insert a trimed piece of wall corner protector, and if your laws are like mine, drill and install roll pins, when it holds what you want. If your in California, you may want to trim off the bottom of the mag where it says 20 rounds If you shorten the mag, its better to trim a little off the spring. I made 10 rounders, 5 rounders, opps and a 11 rounder. need to take that one back apart and fix it. <thumbsup>
  4. Sorry i got tied up. Here is the jig plate. here is the jig. After every thing was fitted, I looked all over for a bipod mount. Troy only offers a rail, no mount. So back to the drafting table. Simple and light. The old Harris bipod fits well. Shooting it will be soon, Need that bolt group, and scope mount.
  5. Jgun, I made a rotory table top jig. later today i will try to post a picture.
  6. My MA TEN build is done with all dpms small parts. Except the trigger, safty, mag release (California rules suck)(But it can be worked around <thumbsup> <thumbsup>), and buffer spring. The first upper uses a Dpms 260 Remington barrel 24". The second upper has yet to be built. 308 16"
  7. Jgun. The machines i have are all manual. there are some ideas that I'm kicking around about making them better, like getting 0 leakage, when adjusted all the way closed. I started this project with the Idea of making more. Perhaps summer I will have them perfected. The next one will be a .750. if that comes out like i expect there will be another .936. as far as CNC. I do have limited access. That may come into play if the next one comes out as planed.
  8. I finally got it done. Now the gas block fits <thumbsup>
  9. I finally got sometime and started the gas block. I could have use the belt sander on the PRI block and made it fit. But I have the tools to make one. So why not. The first picture shows the problem. Now to the second problem. The PRI block with the screw bottomed out has a "lot" of leakage. After testing the one that I roughed out, the leakage is noticeably less. I may try a smaller gas hole around .120 ish, on another one, just to see if I can get even less leakage. The second picture is the roughed out block. And the third one is the block mounted on the barrel. Next week, if time permitting we will mount it to the rotary table for shaping. Its looking like the PRI block will be in need of a new home, less the gas tube. <thumbsup> O I frogot, the block after shaping will be the same height as the PRI block. I also plan on a .750 block also.
  10. Well is dosn't fit. <dontknow> To make it fit the screw boss will need to come off. I think I will make one that will fit with the adjustment in the front.
  11. Called PRI, the DPMS barrel has the gas block placement, the same as a AR15. So I got the shorter gas tube. Parts to be here First of next week. <thumbsup>
  12. Here is the 260 upper, so far. DPMS 260 bull barrel On order- PRI gas block and tube. Troy TRX FFT, Duracoat MP dark earth. Next week we will be a painting. The next and last part to complete the 1ST upper is the bolt carrier. It will have to wait until after My Vegas trip. If I’m not broke. <dontknow>
  13. The lower is done. Here are the specs so far. MA-TEN matched set with a second upper Standard DPMS small parts. Bad Ass ambi safety Geissele DMR trigger DPMS 308 Buffer Tubs Flat wire spring Magpul MOE grip and PRS stock California stuff-Modified PMAGS 3-10 rounders, and 1- 5 Rounder. Bullet Button Convertible.
  14. The PRI in 308, they have 2 listed. Has a straight 15.65" gas tube. The outher one is listed with a 15.495" tube.
  15. Brain fart <lmao> i do mean .936
  16. Any of you using the TRX with an adjustable .964 gas block? If so which one or ones fit.
  17. While shopping at Brownells, I saw the AR-15 hammer and trigger jig. http://www.brownells.com/.aspx/pid=19958/Product/AR-15-HAMMER-TRIGGER-JIG-WITH-DRY-FIRE-BLOCK Looks like one could learn from the use of it. Regards. Mike
  18. Both uppers will need adjustable gas blocks, correct? That way, I can use the same buffer for both uppers. Meaning that I will be adjusting the barrels to the one buffer. I do have a mill and lathe, I love to make things in my spare time. Muzzle brakes are not hard to fab. I have done several for some of my bolt guns. I was thinking of making my own buffer, up to 10 oz range, but the hydraulic buffer looks possibly like what I would want, might give it a go. A suppresser would be nice, but are bad ju ju here in California. As for, how far can I shoot. I have access to 2500 Ackers. We can shoot 1000 yards. When it comes time for the barrels, all recommendations will be considered. This is far from being set in stone. regards Mike
  19. After much consideration, I went to my local shop and ordered a Ma-Ten. Well after waiting for 3 weeks, thinking. I changed the order to include a 2nd upper. Got the call Friday, 3 more weeks, and started the paper work. 10 day wait. “California” Here’s my plan. Build it with a 308 tactical upper, and a medium range 260 Remington upper. See if you would do it another way. This build may take a while, no money tree. It died 2 years ago. Regards Mike. LOWER 1- MA-TEN RECIEVER SET, WITH 2ND UPPER. 2- BUTT STOCK EXTENSION TUBE. RIFLE LENGTH 3- HEAVY BUFFERS AR10R-XH, 10 OUNCE BUFFER0R-XH 4- ArmaLite AR-10 Buffer Springs 5- FULTON ARMORY Lower Receiver Parts Kit, WITHOUT Trigger Parts 6- AR GOLD TRIGGER 308 7- MAGPUL PRS STOCK 8- AR-15/AR-STYLE .308 MAG LOCK BULLET-BUTTON.” CALIFORNIA” 9- TAKE DOWN PINS THAT ARE EASER TO REMOVE. 10- MODIFIED PMAGS FOR 10 and 5 ROUNDS. “CALIFORNIA” The Tactical Upper. 1- Rainier Arms Select™ .308 Barrel - 16 SS 2- JP Adjustable Gas System. Picatinny rail .750" bore Black Stainless 3- MID LENGTH GAS TUBE 4- JP modular free float hand guard, mid length (9.25” OAL) , 5- TROY BATTLE SIGHTS 6- Custom Made Muzzle Brake. Design will depend on how the gun fires without one. 7- The Bolt Carrier, There are a few choices here. I think I will go with a Young Manufacturing Carrier, with a JP EnhancedBolt™ Medium Range Upper 1- DPMS barrel 260 Remington 24” 2- RIFLE LENGTH GAS TUBE 3- JP modular free float hand guard, RIFEL length (12.5” OAL) , 4- TROY BATTLE SIGHT 5- Again, I think I will go with a Young Manufacturing Carrier, with a JP EnhancedBolt™ 6- Again a Custom Made Muzzle Brake. Design will depend on how the gun fires without one.
