  1. " come back the same way you left.Good luck" Will do, and Thank you.
  2. I had a few extraction failures yesterday. I want to say about 4 in 300 rounds. That is way too many imho. Anyway, I kept it lubed and was hoping it would get better with a few more boxes of ammo, but I can see this is not likely the case. I was using cheap steel case ammo, the same ammunition that my partners DPMS .308 midlength fires with zero failures. I'm going to follow the advice on this thread and see where it takes me. I've already invested enough in this rifle, so I'd rather get it firing reliably. I won't be in a hurry to buy another BM if this is what its going to take to get it to function like it should. With that said, I will keep an eye on this thread because I'm headed overseas soon, so it may be awhile before I can address the problem. Thanks in Advance for the information. L2M
  3. Yes, I had to have the gunsmith install this. He just trimmed the ORC gasblock and removed the bayonet lug. Here's a pic with all my crap on it. Can't wait til today, gonna zero it and sling lots of rounds!!!
  4. Yes, 16" and 15.5" JPs. The only problem I had were the price of rails. I used a 2.25 wooden dowel with 60 grit sandpaper wrapped around it to radius the back side of the plastic Magpul rails so they would sit flush. Other than that..I really dig the new setup. Thanks for the compliments. Rainer Arms were the only place I could find them in stock before Christmas.
  5. Still undecided on everything else... I have a scope and AR stoner mount enroute, should be here on Monday. I had it decked with Magpul gear, but decided to go in a different direction. I am looking into maybe the Dueck offset sights or the ones made by JP enterprises. I really, really love the AR platform for all the different configurations. My next purchase will more than likely be the Stag Model 3....and ultimately a long range setup on another AR platform. Funny, these things are damn near as fun as Legos.
  6. Purchased my 308 ORC last week, I've fired a couple hundred rounds thru it with no issues. I've since installed the magpul moe handguards, PWS30 muzzle/sup, vert grip, rubber butt cover, and a cheap red dot. I did get a chance to fire my partners DPMS 308 and it had considerable more kick and muzzle jump. I really like this rifle, I just wish Bushmaster would have installed a gas block with the picatinny rail--easy fix though. I could easily fire this weapon ALL day without any fatigue or soreness on the shoulder. Kick and muzzle rise is almost non-existent. I wish I could provide more feedback, but the last weapon I fired with any consistency was my m16a2. I'm really happy with the purchase. Now I need/want a good 3 gun platform like the STAG model3. Since retiring from the Army in July, I've slowly started filling my gun safe with stuff I've always wanted. Check the block for a 308 AR platform.
  7. Thank you for the warm welcome. Absolutely! It feels great to be retired. I retired the uniform, but I still have the same desk. L2m
  8. Very recently retired from the military. Been away from civilian weapons for a LONG time and am really looking forward to getting up to speed on the AR styled weapons. I was real close to grabbing the Springfield Socom 16, but the AR styled weapons have so MANY options, I couldn't pass it up. I committed to the AR because I am familiar with it. I'm finally in the Black Gun Club!!! I did get a Springfield, but it was the XD .40. Since retirement: BM .308 ORC, S&W Bodygaurd(wife's), Mossberg 500, XD .40(3.8in--CCL) Few other guns in the safe and 'around'--Glock26 Gen3, and the Browning BL-22 Grade2 with a Redfield scope(first gun owned, given as a gift from my dad when I was 14.) Been around guns forever, but never actually bought any...always had free guns and ammo in the infantry. lol Thank you for creating this Forum. I feel like I bought a bit of an oddball with my choice of weapon. I will be starting a thread on setting up my weapon etc. I have a specific setup I would like to try with optics and and offset/canted(?) quickfire....just trying to find a similar set up to copy so I'm not starting from scratch. Back to reading, and Thanks in advance to everyone! L2m
