Alrighty, ran perfect with the lesser of two evils ( crapy Wally world ammo and the surplus). I only had one box of the Winchester from wall-mart, but it ran fine. No failures or malfunctions. The surplus would not feed reliably. Had maybe ten failures to feed out of the seventy rounds I had.. Make me feel a hell of a lot better. Ran it wet like you guys said.. But no failure to eject or fire so in happy. I'm thinking with quality ammo it'll run fine. I'll order some federal tonight. I use sgammo.com for my pistolas.. They seem to have fair prices. Any suggestions on the .308? Im looking to buy in bulk of course.

You guys are the shiznit. I'm going to go give her a test now. Was suspecting that gas block movement was not right! I'm using a Troy 13.8 hand gaurd dusty44. I'll be back in 2 hours with a report. Can't thank you gentlemen enough. Very happy I joined this forum!!! <thumbsup>

Hi guys, how is everybody this fine evening? I posted this reply in my introduction thread called "greetings from north Carolina". I figured this should pertain to this section not introductions so I am starting a new thread on the topic. --> Got a chance to go shoot today with a bunch of friends. So excited to try this new platform! Loaded her up. Charged it. Got three shots out then " click ".. Oh no... Here we go... I am not an AR databass to say the least, (that's what you fine gentlemen are here for!!! ) I had never shot one before today. So please excuse my lack of knowledge pertaining to terms and parts related to the AR. From these last couple of hours research ha ha... I think, not know, think that I'm experiencing a little short stroke/ failure to extract problems.. There are threads pertaining to new CMMG's having this problem, but I haven't found a definitive cause. Ugh.. How to explain this without sounding incompetent..? The bolt seats a round, I am able to fire that round, and either it will extract the shell and load a new cartridge but not seat the bolt all the way. Or not extract at all. I ordered the battle ax stock in mil spec, spoke to CDNN sports they told me the stock mk3 buffer tube (that I am using) is a civy spec. But the stock fits great very little play. Not to tight. Adjusts beautifully. Confused on how that works... I am using the XH buffer and spring (carbine length) from heavy buffers. Have tried to use the stock buffer and spring ( original one that was on the rifle), problem persists. I put the Magpul that came on the rifle and the problem persist with both buffers and springs. Sorry if this is getting long guys.. Bare with me please, and if I should post this in another category please let me know. I am new to online forums and want to abide by the rules haha.. I placed one round into my magazine and discharged it. The bolt locks back into place afterwards. And the shell is extracted fine. Heard that's a way to test short stroke. Not sure if that's true. I removed my forend and Checked the gas block it seemed as if it was not centered. I was able to push it a little further down the barrel towards the receiver ( 1-2mm). Did a field strip and oiled the crap out of the bolt/extractor and such. I am at home now so I cannot test the rifle (to much I live kinda in the country but still in a residential neighborhood. my neighbors shoot guns all the time but I don't wanna piss them off shooting a .308 in my back yard). Anyway after adjusting the gas block that millimeter or so i took the rifle outside and discharged three shots without malfunction. Slowly. Malfunctions with pmags and the x25 drum. Surplus and Winchester ammo. The mag is well seated. I'm not riding the charge handle. Do y'all think it is a gas problem, Is it something out of spec with my buffers/stock/spring? I will test more tomorrow at my range, if i still am having problems do you guys have any suggestions? Any info would be fantastic guys. Thanks again guys.

I made this thread because I care about the message that Paul is spreading. I said I don't want to upset anyone because I am respectful. The first amendment is a bitch huh... ;) . I am happy to see that there are supporters in this community, especial Leo's that's great gentlemen. I'm not going to argue with you or anybody for that matter. Waste of time really, My feelings are mine and yours are yours, I can't help if you are obsessive compulsive my friend. I see things every day I do not enjoy. Beauty of the Internet is if you don't like what you see click the back button.

I would love to see that doco whenever you are done! I spend a lot of time studying history. So that sort of thing is right up my ally. Be sure to send me a PM my friend when you complete it. As far as everyone knows you don't have to be a pothead to support Ron... Try telling that to people in my neck of the woods. All I hear is " only people who want drugs legalized support him" . It's bullpoopy and it sickens me. I personally dont think drugs should be legalized. If marijuana can help a person with lucimia from being in agonizing pain. So be it let em have it. Better than getting a person hooked on opiots... Just my 2 cents. But I don't see with things like the NDAA bill being passed, and the unemployment level the way it is. So much debt, so many struggling Americans. Why the $@&" Is it even an issue.

Good to know someone feels the same! I watch all the debates and try to follow the game as much as my schedule allows for it. Sometimes when Paul speaks it gives me goose bumps. We Dam sure need a man that defends the constitution first and formost! Great guy hey, 78 years old workin 18 hours a day for liberty. I sure hope if I live to that age I have as much energy! Saying these things I wanna say I am not a frantic, pot smoking, extremist, or a racist. Usually when you say I support Paul that's the judgment that gets passed on you. Sad really. I blame the media for this. That's my opinion. Seems like they will say whatever they can to discredit him. A perfect example is them bringing up news letters he DID NOT write from 20 years ago that have been disavowed by Paul for a long long time. Saying he is a racist. All I can say is I'll keep phoning from home, I'll keep donating my hard earned money ( trust me I ain't got much of it !! ;D ), and I'll keep trying to tell my friends and family as much as I can about the Dr.

Sorry bud. Im new here. Had no idea there was a political bored.
-
Hi there ladies and gentlemen. Let me start this topic by saying that in doing so I do not mean to offend or upset anybody. I know that a lot of people are sensitive about there political affiliation, don't like to talk about who they are voting for, and think that it is just plain rude to ask. I DO NOT wish to piss anyone off or start an argument. I would in fact like to know if there are any Military, LEO's, and just plain old folks like me out there supporting Dr. Ron Paul. Im sure there has to be some!!!!! After all Paul gets more donations from the military than all candidates combined. Speak up guys! 3rd then 2nd, not as unelectable as the media might say huh? For me, and this is my opinion. He is the only person I will vote for. Shoot I might even right him in if a have to :P !

Wow what a great thread! Awesome read! Thanks alelks!

Well.... The RSA is an aftermarket part so glock is under no obligation to replace it or fix any damages. Aftermarket parts = void of warranty. In most cases. But no worries I have the factory RSA and it works plenty fine. Plus the damage to my frame is purely cosmetic. The Stainless steel RSA was just Perty, only reason why I ran it. Only a glock can take a bullet and still be functional right?! I Like the New RTF glocks. The older 3rd gennys were just a tiny bit slippery to me. I recently tried to make a Glock look like a 1911 (hence the stainless RSA) .. I think I did OK! Anyone else got any Extraordinary tupperware?

Is it ok to manually cycle an AR??.... This rifle... And please excuse my ignorance.... It jams like crazy if you manually cycle rounds.. If i let the charging handle almost slam back it seems to be fine tho. ( by jam I mean failure to extract, double feeds, and the bolt not closing all the way. Also when I manually cycle rounds they get some decent size scratches on the bullet (not the case). Normal? Quit playing with it? Crappy surplus ammo? Whats up? Thanks guys.

Continued ---> Wasn't to difficult to assemble.. Would have been a little bit easier if i had had the correct tools. FYI Troy Industries battle Ax pistol grip does NOT fit on a .308. Dremel tool beats pistol grip every time... It is heavy, very very heavy. And with the X-25 it is ridiculous. but over all I am pleased. Haven't had the chance to shoot it. You can see in the picture of the X-25 that it scrapes the mag well and is kind of a pain to insert and drop. It needs to be sanded down half a millimeter, I'm sure that will solve the problem. Pretty neat how it loads, you have to turn the gear in the front to retract the spring and load a round. So no thumb pain. Looks perty huh...

Got it. Pics coming soon . Muhahahahaha!!!

Alllllllrighty!!!!!! My very first AR variant is here!! Took CDNN three day total from time of order to arrival at local FFL.. FFL told me it wasn't there Friday and Saturday (but it was). Very very happy. Fit and finish is very nice. No blemishes, niks, or scratches. Seems like a very sturdy well made piece of machinery. Stainless barrel is nice plus it is threaded!!! Heavy as my mother in law. Packaging was also in good shape. Came with one 20 rd mag. I'm building her now. I need help with the removal of the stock it's a Magpul MOE. I can not for the life of me get it off the buffer tube!!! I'm sure it's something real small like a depression pin I can't find. Any info would be great guys. Ready to get this SOB up and running!!!

What did lee say in that movie??? " ditch that nickel plated sissy gun and get a glock" something of that order. Love my glocks. Def bet my life on them ANY day. Especially knowing now that it'll still go boom with a Broken RSA jammed up in it!!!
-
The springs are fine. I believe I'm missing a piece (some pieces) ? It looks like the flat dime sized piece of metal in the pic. The only damage you can really notice is the tube. It's a little mangled. Lord knows where that piece is. I'm guessing what happened is some how that little piece broke off when the action chambered a new round, causing the RSA to come apart inside my gun. Don't really know how that is possible. But it def happened. HAHAHA!!! Shoot the plastic is fine. Solid Stainless steal RSA broke inside and only gouged the frame a we bit. I can't figure out for the life of me how the thing was able to fire with no spring. Like you said gotta give credit to Gaston for that. Not one FTE FTF. Amazing.
-
I believe the SS model RSA is at about 22lbs.. Funny how glock uses 17 lbs in all models from 9mm to .45. I'll call rockyourglock tomorrow. I HIGHLY doubt they will do anything to accommodate my aggravation but who knows. Sorry for the language guys... I put this same post on glock.pro and got yelled at lol. Dirty mouth James...

Went shooting yesterday, everything went smooth as butter (not one FTE or any failures). Got home went to clean my 27 and to my surprise I could not get the slide off.... looked at the front of my little baby glock and the spring is cock eyed and jammed up in the frame. It took me all of about 15 minutes to un jam it using a screw driver (having to compress the spring and really man handle it to separate the frame and slide) I DID NOT notice this when I was shooting. I was using 165 gr EFMJ federal ammo. What in the poop right? And I'm pissed because it damaged my frame.. heres some pics, you can see that the steel on the spring and my frame is dented and chiped.. What do you guys think? I got the spring from Rockyourglock.com. What should I do? Do you guys think I am owed anything due to the damage of my frame? Thanks guys.

Yep it would not be fun to waste all that time, money, and effort. Thanks for the replies gentlemen. As for the trust situation I'm gunna talk to a lawyer about that for sure. I no that many many many a people have used quicken and been approved. But there is a crappy loop hole that could place me in a #$%^ load of trouble.. Say the ATF approves my trust and ses " Yep good to go heres a full auto and a silencer..." and it turns out that my trust is invalid. Then I am in possession of class 2 items ILLEGALLY.. Big no no. Up to $25000 fine and ten years federal pound me in the $%@ vacation time if my memory serves me correctly.. Either way I feel that getting that trust looked at by an attorney is the best way to go, specially in the circumstances you guys outlined. Its always good to have a safe guard.. Having something that protects my multi thousand dollar investments on all my weapons is invaluable.

I have a question im hoping you fine AR fans may be able to shed some light on. I am planning on putting a suppressor on a CMMG MK3 that I am waiting on. My question is a two parter. First and foremost what do you gentlemen think about DIY barrel threading? I have done some research and watched a few you tube videos on the subject, and with the right tools it doesn't seem to be that difficult. I would be buying the kit ( die, thread alignment tool, ect). Anyone done this themselves ? Dodgy or cheap an effective? Last but not least, I want to acquire a silence through a Revocable trust. I have been told my CLEO will not sign a form 4. A revocable trust is a way to by pass his approval, in the past here in NC it has been iffy.. But as of Dec 1st 2011 they passed a law saying that it is defenantly 100% legit. Long story short I have typed up a trust specifically for firearms. I'm ready to have her notarized And send it off with the forms to BATF. Question is, anyone here try / accomplish this? How was the process? Did you have a lawyer write your trust, or did you use quicken and modify it like I did? Any info would be fantastic. Thanks again guys!
