  1. Thanks for the tip imschur! Will having the nut to tight effect the rifle in a negative way?
  2. I certainly can post some pictures my brother.. I Always seem to post them to small and sideways and stuff. I haven't had to many posts on here so my apologies for that ahead of time. I really don't feel like taking the Rail off right this second, but I'll put up some picks of the new feed ramp and such.. Oh and the Flash Enhancer, I just want one for shoots and giggles... Reminds me off the fourth of July. <thumbsup> I understand that those little notches align with the gas tube hole. It seemed like a twist to the right was to tight, and a twist to the left was to loose. At this point with all the garbage I've gone through with this beast.. I said to myself "screw it, if I muck it up I muck it up.. Amazon can have me one here in the mourning if need be lol.". It doesn't seem like removing that single notch will affect the performance and you cant see it.. Will it? This is my first AR. If the barrel nut is to tight what will that do? Like I had said it really rock solid now. much better. Really I'm just happy its shooting, now I'm actually part of the .308AR club.. Not the .308AR bolt action club. ;D PICS before and after ramp shots, .223 Flash Enhancer, and a few pictures of the rifle --->
  3. I'm sure some one sells them still. <dontknow> I know Atlantic Firearms has explosive targets and Red Jacket.
  4. Anyone know were I can find a flash enhancer for the .308?? I can only find them for .223.. ;D
  5. Hello ladies and gentlemen. Here is my long over due update. Sorry it took me so long been working my buns off as of latel, Found out I got a baby on the way, yadda yadda yadda so on and so fourth. Sent the rifle back to CMMG, took about a week to get it back. Somewhat pleased with the work they did.. Shipping and return time was great and they were very pleasant to deal with. They did a custom polish job on the feed ramp (very nice), Realigned the gas block, and lock-tighted the screws that hold the block in place. I have had the riffle out to the range several times since I got it back.. Shoots great!!! about 300 rounds down range and not one failure to feed or eject! Makes me a very happy chappy. SO with that said I will attribute my FTF FTE to the crappy stock feed ramp job.. Gas block issues... They are persistent to say the least. First time taking the riffle out after getting it back from CMMG the gas block moved again... I'd readjust it.. It moves again. After about 4 range trips having this problem every time.. I noticed that not only is my block moving forward towards the muzzle brake a few milometers.. But so is the entire quad rail. It moves also is moving a few milometers from the upper. This movement has not cause one short stroke or failure.. So here is what I did, first stripped it down did a full inspection. I noticed that there were almost no dimples on the barrel to keep the gas block in place... So I guess CMMG did not notice this and just thought that loc-tight would keep it in place. I drilled dimples myself, seems to be a lot more stable now. Every time I have broken this thing down and reassembled, I have noticed that when I install the FF quad rail it would never be aligned properly. Meaning that instead of the barrel being center it would be low, very low.. And I would be able to slightly move the rail left and right.. Seems my barrel nut was loose because I was able to remove it by hand without much man power... Figuring that is loose, correct me if i am wrong? Sorry to go on and on guys... Tightened the block up real good. Hopefully not over torqued, I don't have the proper tool so I had to use vice grips and a shimmy towel. When I tightened it to the max I was then unable to install my gas tube because there are little notches on the barrel nut that would get in the way... Dremel took care of that little notch reeeaaal quick. I then installed the Rail and drilled a very small dimple on the barrel nut to accommodate the screw from the rail that is supposed to hold the rail in place.. Tightened it down.. Feels great, better than it ever has and is now very stable. It wont budge no matter how hard I tug and pull. So I'm thinking that the lack of dimples and the loose ass barrel nut was the fix on that.. I will update in the next couple of days.. Thank you everyone and have a great evening ! <thumbsup>
  6. Yep I used mothers mag ( same as flitz sort of ) to polish my glock 27 barrel to a mirror finish. It will work but be careful like survivalshop said.
  7. No poop I'll second that .
  8. Thank you unforgiven. You to my friend. Guess I'll post an update when a get this thing back. Pretty impressed with CMMG's customer service so far, already got the packaging label. I'll be sending it off tomorrow.
  9. I just got off the phone with cmmg. Ima send it in guys. He promised me two week turnaround at most... Either that or spend more money trying to fix It myself. I have spent enough. Who knows maybe my upper is defective and I'll get a free one haha ;D .
  10. I got it from cdnn sports. I spoke with them they have a three day return policy. So my only option is cmmg. Or gunsmith. I've been trying to find a gunsmith around my area... To no avail. Which surprises the poop out of me considering I'm on the largest naval base on the east coast. Lejune/ havelock air base area. You guys think ship it to cmmg?
  11. Yes sir. I had this problem to start with. pushed it back, lined it up, tightened it down. Its moved a bunch. It pissed out carbon everywhere. Can't see to good in the pic. Why do my pictures always post sideways and upside down and stuff its weird ? <dontknow>
  12. I know.. I agrees.. It just sucks.. I spent close to 2500$ on this POS so far.. to send her off and be without it for however long. Gay. But it ain't doing know good as it is..
  13. Yea there are no dimples on the barrel. Only marks where I had the screws.
  14. Alright. This Dam rife is pushing me to the limits.. Bought some good stuff today. Hornady Tap 168gr and Hornady zombie max 168gr. Drove out to my shooting spot (forgot my ears.. And they are still ringing). How neat is the zombie ammo HAHA??! Total marketing scam but pretty cool to show the buddies. Green ballistic tip My fiancee posted a pic of the box on facebook.. People thought it was funny. Got about ten shots off without any FTFeed... Then the rifle started to short stroke. One after another six in total. Looked through the holes in my fore rail.. To my surprise my gas block had moved maybe 3-4 millimeters away from the receiver.. Fun poop. :( Brought a set of allen keys but I didn't have the correct set >:( . What a day... To top that off drove down to the local sheriff department to turn in my CCW, decent 45 min drive. It's totally MLK day if anyone doesn't know.. :cookoo: Did a take down last night, cleaned, lubed the fornicate out of everything. Didn't mess with the gas block or tube... Heres a pic of what I did to the mag last night after I had all those FTF, seems to feed nicer than it did prior. Also the gay block. sorry gas block. Any opinions on why the block moved? not aligned properly? Funny how I got 120 shots off yesterday no worries then ten today and it moves.. My feed ramp resembles the one marked OK in the Picture you posted 98Z. That was a typo on my part my friend I had meant to put Remington. All I have is the one Pmag and the X-25 50rd drum at the moment. FTFeed occurs with the drum as well. Thank you again and in advanced for the replies folks!
  15. You tryna tell me my AR don't love me or somethin??? Now thats just plain old messed up man... Might as well insulted my momma.. :)
  16. what do ou mean buddy?
  17. here are the few picks i could take before the phone died..... And some pictures of my ramp.
  18. Put another 120rds through the beast today. I used 150gr Remington express from dick's. Results weren't very good, had maybe 10-20 Failure to feed. Running plenty lubed up. Seems like the rounds are getting caught up on the feed ramp.. Well, not the feed ramp persay but where the ramp meets the reciever.. My phone died while I was out so I only got to snap a pic or two.. Their shity pictures and ya can't even see the ramp >:( !! It seems like the reciever is chipped right there where it meets the ramp ?? This could be normal wear tho. This is the exact point the tip Of the round is getting stuck. I took some 2000 grit sand paper and polished it just a little bit. Also it seems like maybe the rounds coming out of the pmag were meeting some resistance. So i dremeled the front of the mag on the left hand. Now the rounds slide out of the mag with little resistance. I'm posting this from the IPhone. So I can't post pics. I'll put some up in 15-20 mins. Any opinions????????
  19. Looks like I joined the right forum ! Couldn't be said much better than that.
  20. Long stories do not bother me one bit sir. That's awful to hear that happened to that women. Wow. I'ma Lube her up right now. ;D Does y'alls brass deflector get scratched up? Is this normal? I figure it should be. But for 70rds mines pretty dinged up. Brass deflector may not be the correct term .
  21. It's funny that this is happening where it is happening, when it is happening. Here's a article I copied and pasted from infowars.com ---> Confirmed: ATF Plotted to Use Fast And Furious To Demonize Second Amendment “ATF created the problem so they could be the solution to it” Paul Joseph Watson Infowars.com December 7, 2011 As we postulated when the scandal broke, the Fast and Furious program that saw the ATF deliver guns into the hands of Mexican drug gangs was admittedly exploited to demonize the second amendment and push new gun control regulations. “Documents obtained by CBS News show that the Bureau of Alcohol Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) discussed using their covert operation “Fast and Furious” to argue for controversial new rules about gun sales.” Emails obtained by the network show ATF agents discussing how they could tie guns involved in Mexican violence to gun dealers based in the U.S. to justify the implementation of Demand Letter 3, a regulation that would require U.S. gun stores to report the sale of multiple rifles. One of the emails states, “Bill – can you see if these guns were all purchased from the same (licensed gun dealer) and at one time. We are looking at anecdotal cases to support a demand letter on long gun multiple sales. Thanks.” The emails show ATF members congratulating each other for blaming border violence on guns bought from U.S. dealers despite the fact that the feds were the ones delivering them straight to Mexican criminals under the program. Other emails document how gun dealers involved in the program expressed concern that their firearms were ending up in the hands of “the bady guys,” only to be reassured by the ATF “there’s nothing to worry about.” One law enforcement source told CBS News that the emails suggested the ATF created the problem itself as part of a political ploy. “It’s like ATF created or added to the problem so they could be the solution to it and pat themselves on the back. It’s a circular way of thinking,” the source said. Un freaking believable ...!
  22. Haha! Want some more anti gun fun???!! Check this out. Even more fundamentally wrong in my book. http://gilspencerblog.blogspot.com/2012/01/from-dept-of-dumb-ideas.html
