  1. Neighbor shot this guy. No luck so far. Going to a different location end of week to see what I can find.
  2. Yup, that would be a good shot, especially since the stand is 20 yards behind the camera. Unfortunately, this pic was just after midnight. The good news is neighbor just combined 300 acres of corn next door...so patterns changing already.
  3. Link is to vid, but here is a pic of him.
  4. Saw this guy on my cams a number of times this fall. Hope to see him when hunting! Good luck to all you hunters! I also figured out my issues with some (low power) loads not cycling properly with my JP Silent capture spring. Solve by....inserting a quarter in buffer tube before silent capture spring. Not kidding. JP guy went over things with me and suggested. Apparently spring assembly just a bit short or buffer tube a bit long and not fully pushing bolt all the way back every time. I probably should see if I have any more thread left to screw buffer tube farther in...but don't think I do. Cycles every time properly now with every type of load I put in it. 10pt.mp4
  5. Weighed the .308 rifle: 12.2 lbs with scope and sling but without a magazine or bipod. My latest AR15 weighs 10.0 lbs. (18" with rifle length gas - DPMS 3G1 upper) Every time that I decide to get an alternate upper (caliber, length, or whatever), I just end up getting a dedicated lower for it. Guess I just have to build another and make it a lightweight hunter :)
  6. Looks great Washguy. Mine is a DPMS. Now that the weather is getting nicer, I hope to get out and do some more shooting soon. Will weigh it then. Mine has 18" with M-308, hiperfire 243G, jp silent capture and shoots soft as well.
  7. Very nice!
  8. Thanks everyone! Unfortunately, we only saw porcupines and woodpeckers this past weekend. The deer seem to only be moving at night and we didn't hear any wolves. Oh well, muzzleloader season starts soon.
  9. Yessir, the 308 hit em hard. Big effin hole on exit. Going up this afternoon for the weekend to see if we can get more Wolf and Deer.
  10. Not sure I want SBR, so would probably make sure comp pinned to hit 16". So I think I know the answer, but is there any issue with reduced velocity from 12.5" or even 14.5" barrel if I am not trying to get out past say 200-300 yards?
  11. Not sure what it weighs yet. I know my 243 rem 700 should weigh 7 lbs or so and this feels a lot heavier. Now I'm gona have to get on the scale with it tonight to see exact weight. I didnt build for hunting. Just wanted for heavy metal 3 gun and or pushing some longer distance. (And cause I didn't have one :) I have vtac sling and carry 2 point in front barrel down to left.
  12. Agree with washguy. Two boys and a mule to carry. Great sitting in stand with Nikon M-308 scope. Tough to hump through Northern MN swamps.
  13. Welcome fellow Minnesotan. I have first gen DPMS 308. 18" rfile length gas. Miculek comp. Hiperfire 24 3G trigger and JP silent capture spring. Still working out bugs, but love the low recoil and no muzzle rise as well as great trigger.
  14. Robo. I'll search as well, but any hints on finding 13.7 inch barrel and what is a KX5? Thx
  15. Current stock is an Ace Skeletonized. It's pretty light. Barrel is 18" rifle length gas system with DPMS m111 handguard. I'll look into a short upper.
