Does it only work on their guns?

I need a good way to secure my upper to install my muzzle device. Other than the geissele reaction rod, what do y'all use? My upper is a billet SI-D. I assume I shouldn't use an action/upper block since a crush washer apparently takes some torque.

How old is that trigger? How many rounds? Pictures?

Can anybody explain how they modified this block to fit a DPMS style upper? It doesn't quite fit my SI-D upper.

Did y'all ever get the results together from the flash suppressor/compensator round up? Has that even been done yet?

Any other recommendations that Robo didn't mention?

Thanks guys. The A2 is just a standard muzzle device that I'm familiar with. I wanted to see how it acts with it and go from there. Start simple and adjust as needed. Thanks for those suggestions. I have the MOE+ as my top pick at the moment.

So, what about an upgraded safety selector is critical? Obviously you want it to work every time. Are there reliability issues with stock selectors?

Well over a year after I started this process I am nearly done. I have all my parts in and just need to torque my barrel nut and check headspace. Since it's not truly finished yet I'll be updating this post/thread as I go. I hope to provide as much documentation as possible so this build could be a resource to others. Idea Behind the Gun: In 2011 I was living in Houston after recently graduating college. I was freshly employed and making good money. I was excited about the prospect going hog hunting more with my dad since I didn't have school tying me down. The few times I had gone hog hunting I used a Colt Sporter 7.62x39 (not mine) with a 4x optic. I started to see that I wanted something with more power and range but still relatively light and agile. So I started looking at AR-10s. Fast forward to December 2012 and I realized I may not have forever to buy a rifle like what I want. If not now, some day it could get banned. After some scrounging and finding 308ar.com I was able to order my receiver to safeguard against a ban. Hog hunting here in Louisiana/Mississippi isn't laying up with a sniper rifle. There's dogs working the hogs and we're all on four wheelers trying to work together to get positioned to head them off. You're constantly on and off the four wheeler. When you're on foot it's tough terrain. You could find yourself anywhere from hundreds of yards or 5 feet from a hog. You basically want a battle rifle purpose built for free standing shooting. And you don't want a failure because these piggies aren't very sweet. Some say it works great, while others say a gas block is way too hot for red (262) loctite. The data sheet on that web page seems to show that strength declines after reaching about 40°C. Which is pretty low. Am I reading that right? Anyway. Any wisdom on the topic would be appreciated.

Yea, I see what some folks are spending on safety selector. I can't imagine. I was willing to spend real money on critical components. Even optics. But I go cheap on everything else. I'm not taking this thing to Afghanistan and I plan on avoiding firefights. So the accessories don't have to be anything fancy.

I've looked around here in the forums at what y'all say you're using and I was blown away at the prices for what y'all are using for sling hardware. I guess I'm too cheap or too poor. Maybe both.

Thanks for this link. They have what I need at good prices and as you mentioned free shipping. That specific end plate you linked, do you like that wide loop? Seems like a lot of room for movement. I think I'm going to go with the two small loops.

I am noticing how ridiculous prices are for end plates with ambi sling hook up rings. Same thing for rail mounted sling hook up rings. I ordered a 2-1 sling with mash hooks so I'm not looking for hardware to run a sling through. Just a small eye to hook to. Anybody have some they want let go for a price? Although I'm willing to accept donations too! ;)

Anybody have a SSA trigger they're willing to let go? Anybody know where I can get one for less than $190?

Are you using that on a .308 gun? No problems with losing zero from recoil or shock?
