  1. Got a few packages yesterday. Buffer, tube, and spring from Slash's Heavy Buffers. Great service Ambidextrous safety and ALG trigger from Battle Arms Development, Inc.. Also great service and as previously posted the barrel from Fulton Armory. I also got one of their 308 magazines which is not pictured. I though the buffer tube would come with the end plate and castle nut, but it did not. So I can't completely assemble my lower until I find them somewhere. I also need to find an AR wrench.
  2. I'm still waiting on the gas block, but I'll most likely order the 13.8" version. Thanks.
  3. I'd like to purchase a Troy Industries Battlerail model number STRX-E3A-13BT-01. Before ordering I'd like to measure my barrel to ensure I get the correct length rail. My question is where do I measure from? The lip on the barrel that buts to the upper or do I measure at the base of the threads on the upper? I have a Fulton Armory 16" barrel with rifle length gas system. Ideally I'd like the hand guard to cover the gas block. http://www.brownells.com/rifle-parts/stock-forend-parts/forends-handguards/ar-15-m16-ar-style-308-trx-battlerail-handguards-prod53944.aspx
  4. HAHA. A closet is right. I like the people there. They gotta clean the place up a little bit though. It doesn't take too long for it feel cluttered since it's so small. I tried doing my transfer at Zero Hour Arms in Easton, but they refused when Quentin Defense called to verify their FFL info. They said they don't do out of state transfers. I thought that was odd. I then chose C+F and that went smoothly. Now if only the delivery UPS and USPS delivery men would should up with some new toys!!
  5. MA meet up works for me!
  6. Well after much anticipation my Quentin Defense billet .308 lower arrived today. I received the upper a couple weeks ago but have been waiting for the lower before starting this thread. This is my first AR build and I'm looking forward to completing it. I have a lot of parts on order. Hopefully they will arrive soon so I can start assembling the lower. 7. Awesome. Thanks Blue109. This is my first build so I'm sure I'll have some easy/stupid questions. haha
  8. Hey everyone. I unpacked my new 9" Ace stock and lined it up with my receiver to take a picture and noticed there is a gap between the stock and the receiver. What is the part called that needs to be installed in this location? I'm still waiting on a buffer tube, buffer, and spring from Heavy Buffers. Would the part be included with the buffer? Thanks everyone!
  9. Link is dead.
  10. That's what I was thinking. I'm going to hold off on ordering a rail until I have gas block and barrel in hand. I don't want to order it two or three times like I did with my BCG. Haha
  11. Stupid MA! If only they had 10 rounders.
  12. ha. I was JUST on their site and completely missed it. I also just came across one from Spike's Tactical. Although I've never heard of them http://www.spikestactical.com/new/z/upper-parts-spikes-micro-gas-block-625-p-482.html Thanks egde. Now I need to find a hand guard. Since the barrel lists a rifle length gas system is it safe to assume any rifle length hand guard will work? I'm on the hunt for one that won't cost upwards of $400 if I can help it.
  13. I've decided on a barrel for my build....Fulton Armory 16" Ultralite barrel 1x10 twist and rifle length gas system. http://www.fulton-armory.com/barrelfatitan185lwcm1x10750gasblockchrome-lined-1.aspx Is anyone familiar with this barrel in regards to gas blocks? The site lists .625 gas block. I've tried finding one but haven't had much success. Ideally I'd like to find a low profile block that can be covered by the hand guard. If that's possible. I haven't decided on a hand guard yet. -Derek-
  14. Thank you all for the info. Anyone want to buy a forward assist and dust cover? haha.
  15. Hey everyone. I just got my Quentin Defense billet upper in the mail today. The entire time I had the thing on order I thought it had a forward assist. Well it showed up as a slick side....no forward assist and no ejection port cover. I'll be contacting QD if this is the only option they offer for 308. Do slick sides have to have a specific bolt carrier with the knob to pull on? I just ordered the 762 industries BCG yesterday which is a standard BCG and now I'm worried it may be useless. I also already have a DPMS carrier that I figured I would sell or keep for a spair....I'm worried this would be useless also. Any info would be great. Thanks.
  16. When you say soften the impact, do you mean soften the recoil, or just soften the impact on the internal components? This would probably be better on optics as well I'd imagine? Most, if not all my shooting will be done at a range, possibly at a bench. I was thinking of getting as long of a hand guard as I can for a 16" barrel and possibly put a bi-pod on the front end. Not exactly sure yet. The 16" Nemo is still a decent barrel? I just need to make a decision on gas system length vs. the FA barrel. I was worried the FA barrel might be the better choice. I'll have to start putting more money aside for the barrel then. haha Thanks for the info.
  17. I've been doing some looking around for barrels and have a couple questions. My first question is, is a there a big difference in a 18" barrel vs. a 16" barrel. I won't be hunting with this rifle. It's just a range gun. I'm not into target competitions or anything like that. I'm leaning toward 16" right now just to keep the rifle fairly short. My next question is which of the following two barrels would you prefer? http://www.brownells.com/rifle-parts/barrel-parts/rifle-barrels/ar-15-m16-308ar-nitride-barrels-prod54801.aspx This is a 16" barrel that uses a carbine length gas system http://www.fulton-armory.com/barrelfatitan185lwcm1x10750gasblockchrome-lined-1.aspx this is a 16" barrel that uses a rifle length gas system. I'm curious what the difference would be when using a 16" rifle with different length gas systems. Any info would be great. Thanks. -Derek-
  18. yup. I'm working on getting a refund from credit card from scam also. good luck
  19. I haven't built the rifle yet, I'm still gathering parts. Thank you for the info
  20. Would there be any issues running this bolt in a DPMS matte bolt carrier? I recently got a the matte carrier and bolt component kit from midway and am looking for a bolt. Was really hoping to get the matching DPMS bolt to save some money, but the JP one is in stock. Thanks.
  21. I have a new DPMS stripped bolt carrier in matte finish along with DPMS bolt component kit. See the links below for more info Selling for $140. Paypal, free shipping. Also willing to trade for DPMS compatible LR308 parts. Shoot me a PM if interested or with trade offers. Thanks -Derek- DPMS Bolt Carrier LR-308 Matte DPMS Bolt Component Kit LR-308
  22. Hi all. I'm fairly new to the AR platform. I recently purchased a stag arms AR-15 and I'm currently participating in a group by for a Quentin Defense billet lower & upper set. Not knowing much about .308 caliber AR's I started doing some research and came across this site. I'm not in a huge rush to complete my .308 rifle which is good since most parts are out of stock every where. My plan is to take my time and order pieces as they become available. -Derek-
