Thanks for the compliments. I sold the apex that was on this 308. I still have one on one of my 556 rifles. I like the JP a lot. I think it looks cool. I like the look of their new rapid configuration handguard too.

Very nice rifle man! I haven't been very active on any forums lately, but it's cool coming back here and seeing how the site has grown and changed. Very nice rifle! I always recommend building. I'm big on matched receiver set for tolerances as well as looks. If it's your first rifle build ever, you acquire lots of gun tools and other stuff...it's a lot of fun. And this usually leads to the sickness we all end up with which is build more and more guns that we desperately need! I know that list is expensive! When I built my first 308ar I built it with no real budget limit other than glass. I went with the vortex viper pst 6-24 FFL MRAD. I think it's a great scope. I saw the new reticle come out (EBR-2C MRAD) last year I think...I sold mine and bought the scope with the new reticle...actually bought 2, put one on my brother's new build. 2 of my buddies have it as well and we are all pleased. If you are public safety, cameralandny.com gave me a discount and has them shipped for 860$ I think it was. I definitely give them a thumbs up. I'm sure it will be a great shooter, you def got nice stuff! I'm really interested on your feedback from the jp silent buffer

Nice rifle. I tested that rail on my brothers. With the slr sentry 9 clamp gas block and the criterion barrel it wouldn't work. With the flex of the rail it came in contact with the gas block. I really like that rail though

Here's some pics of the finished rifle. The OD one is my original, just put a new 17.25" jp handguard on....seeing if I like it. What do you guys think of it? I had a 15" apex before.. The FDE one is my brothers. It's almost identical to mine other than gas block (slr sentry9), rail (15.5" Odin works), ambi 308 set. I also have another ambi 308 set that I'm slowly building for myself. The lighting is weird but the grips are ergo and they have a rubber overmold and match the magpul stuff quite well in person. I think his rifle turned out nice.

Yes it latches on the inside. The ambi sets latch inside. U can still use reg outside latching ones tho. They also sell this charging handle with outside latch. They are working on getting the price down on the charging handle. I didn't care....I didn't mind paying a little more....I wanted it.

Yeah...I got one for my brother...got real jealous so I got one for myself. What's funny is mine is 0000066 and his is 0000087. Lol. He ordered before me. Kinda cool imo. I have a 223 si build that is great. I also have my 308 that I built that is a great long range gun. 18.5" criterion rifle gas. Pushing out to 1140 yards last time! Awesome gun. I honestly was gonna kinda mirror the build...maybe different hand guard, different colors...cerakote an invisible pattern. Honestly just had to have it because it was so damn nice! I'm not even left handed. Lol. This is a true ambi set. You can even swap takedown pin sides. Charging handle is as if it was meant for me. It's really what I needed....size is perfect. I thought of a 20" barrel but with my load data, I'm above 2600 fps with my sd at 3.6 I think( gotta check). That's with an 18.5. Sid gas a 16" with rifle gas. Who knows. I gotta see what velocity people are getting with that

They are running a fathers day special....matched 308 set, with takedown pins, ambi bolt catch, free cerakote, plus 15" handguard for $529". (Pretty sure that was the cost, talked to them yesterday... Give or take 10-20$ I think). Damn good deal for an awesome set!

This rail was really nice. Unfortunately it didn't fit with the xlp gas block. I sent it back. It's really slim. It's a very sturdy design. I got it for the piston setup, but it comes in contact with the gas block. Got one for my brothers 308 I'm building for him. Bad ass! These things are nice! Wish they did the mlok instead of the keymod.

I just got my new Atlas BT46-LW17 With the QD mount. The improvements are fantastic. The price blows...but damn it's nice. Incredibly sturdy. No more rocking front to back, they used stronger material and thicker material For the legs. There is a channel on the inside of the legs now that doesn't allow the legs to spin. Very happy with the new version!

Just thought I'd give everyone a nice update. I just got my hands on 2 of these matched sets in 308. To answer any questions...THIS IS CALIFORNIA LEGAL. The triangle piece you see comes out and they have a CA compliant one. They do not have a BB tool though. I have Phase 5 magnet tools for all my rifles. They are quite nice imo and they don't fall out. The tool works on these but it's loose. You do not need a separate bullet button....you get sent the setup G2G.... U can use a bullet. I am going to use the triangle piece seen here (their regular free state mag release) and machine it and press in a magnet for a nice tight fit for my "mag tool". Their new charging handle is F'n AWESOME! I have Raptors on all my builds....this one is BADASS! I like it a lot as the ears are bigger to allow easier charging with a scope mounted. They aren't advertising the charging handle at all. You can see it on their Instagram and Facebook. Their new charging handles for the ambi sets ( 308 and 556) use an internal latch instead of grabbing the receiver on the outside. They do have external latch charging handles for both 556 and 308 as well. Again....I'm in love with the new charging handle. Imagine an even better Raptor! Yup! Although these are my opinions, but guaranteed you all would likely agree. They are using a different finish on the inside of the uppers/lowers....it's like a gloss or slick surface. It's extremely nice! The outside is like a satin rather than the rougher or "dry" feeling coating like the rest of my sets. Just thought I'd give a heads up. G2G for CALIFORNIA! I spoke to Josh at SI for a bit about what's going on over there. Lots going on! I was curious as to why the Fock they didn't have any of this on their site, why they aren't marketing the crap out of all this stuff, why don't they even offer their charging handle on the site. Imo, their site is kinda weak. When I ordered my first sets a couple years ago, it was even worse if you could imagine. But, their products spoke for themselves. They have tons of pics on their Instagram of the new ambi sets, the new "Petra" 300wm AR, their handguard. A few years ago there was a deal in the works with NEMO Arms to sell, but the deal fell through (SI wanted to sell the aerospace side and weapons side, but NEMO ended up only wanting the weapons side). One of the sons ended up buying it I guess. So there has been a lot of stuff going on behind he sceens over there. Josh informed me about all the stuff being released soon. Even a 338 ar. They are in the process of finishing up photo shoots of the new product I guess. The biggest change is the RE-BRANDING. They are not changing owners, just wanting to separate the aerospace side and the weapons side. The new name is "Falkor Defense" my charging handles say the new name with logo. The matched sets say the SI defense like all the Instagram pics. I'm kinda bummed about the name change, but whatever. I'm glad mine say the original name. Long post I know....but looks like there's gonna be lots of cool stuff coming out from them!
