TRADED Hi All, I have the following complete custom LR308 pattern rifle up for sale: - New Sun Devil Billet Lower - New DPMS LPK and extension tube installed - Used DPMS rifle buffer and spring installed - New OD Magpul grip (their rubber coated version) - New OD Magpul MOE Rifle Stock - Used DPMS Upper, low profile version, complete w/FA and DC - New DPMS BCG - Used VLTOR Gunfighter CG - New Craddock Precision 308 Match chambered barrel, 16", something like an -hbar contour, mid-legth gas port. This is a 1:10" Shilen. These typically are 1/2 MOA barrels. - New YHM low profile gas block - New Midlength Gas tube - New YHM muzzle brake installed. - Used EGW free flat hanguard. This will need refinished and fitted by someone w/ a lathe to look good, so it is not included in the figuring of the price. - 1 308 Pmag, 1 308 ASC SS mag w/FDE magpul, both 20 rounds. Asking $1650 shipped from an individual to an FFL for the complete rifle. This was assembled and never fired. I also have approx 250 pieces of brass available if the buyer is interested. I would consider trades, maybe a nice 300 Win Mag, a 7mm WSSM or 300 WSSM upper, maybe some scopes or something else? I might even be interested in a snowmobile if it's less than 10 years old. . . I just built this but have decided the platform and the round is not really well suited for my style of hunting or shooting, so I'm looking to reinvest the funds elsewhere. This site has been great and very helpful in the process of the build. I thanks all those who helped me with the process! Please email me: teeteradam@gmail.com Thanks all and God bless you, Adam https://lh5.googleusercontent.com/-vcZjOAw8Cpw/UYwqw8Pc4EI/AAAAAAAAARs/TL4v0CoJZDM/w668-h501-no/2013-05-09

Here is a photo of the nearly complete build: https://lh4.googleusercontent.com/-vcZjOAw8Cpw/UYwqw8Pc4EI/AAAAAAAAARs/TL4v0CoJZDM/w645-h484-no/2013-05-09 The EGW handguard will need to be modified some (to better mount to the barrel nut, and also to lighten it up), and then some optics and dies and I think it will be ready to go! Anyone know how to modify the above url to allow if to be included as a photo?

Yes sir it is a 14.5" barrel, but the flash hider has been permanently attached bringing the overall length to more than 16", and keeping this rifle out of the SBR class. . . -

Hi all, My wife and I are trying to complete our seminary degrees and are having some bills come due, so I need to sell this rifle. Here are the specs: - DelTon 14.5" 1:9 twist barrel assembly w/Standard A2 front sight - Smith Vortex flash hider silver soldered in place - YHM Mid length Smooth HG - Upper and BCG are standard mil spec and are not marked - PSA forged lower - PSA lower build kit installed w/Hogue over mold grip, standard M4 style stock - YHM flip up rear sight (YHM-5010) - 6 Thermold 20 round mags, nearly new. The rifle has 200-300 rounds through it and is in great condition. I added it up and to build this I estimate it would cost something like $1050 to build this rifle. $1000 $950 shipped would help us out tremendously, but I will consider offers. I will be in town until the 14th, so if payment is not received by then, this will not ship until the first week of June. It must ship to an FFL and that FFL must accept shipment from a non-FFL. Please email me: teeteradam@gmail.com Thanks all and may God richly bless you, Adam

This is a backawards question from most on the forum, but can a factory DPMS 308 receiver extension, buffer and spring be used on a 5.56 rifle? Or will the buffer/spring be too heavy on that platform? Thanks guys, looking to swap out a fixed stock for a collaspable and just curious if the parts can be used elsewhere. God bless you all, Adam

EasyEJL sent me some mags at a great price and quick! He has also been very helpful in answering many of my questions as I pursue my first 308 build. Thanks and may God richly bless you!

Carbon Firer Handguard for LR308B
cowboyarcher replied to concretus's topic in DPMS Panther Arms LR-308 | Bushmaster 308
This is not CF, but is still very light for aluminum: http://www.midwayusa.com/product/2852340543/samson-evolution-series-customizable-free-float-handguard-dpms-lr-308-with-low-profile-upper-receiver-aluminum-black Listed at 11.5 oz in a Samson catalog I found for the 12.5" model: http://www.samson-mfg.com/manuals/Samson_2012.pdf That's lighter than the Troy 12" TRX at 12.15 oz. . . -
Hi Guys, I have a new EGW rifle length (12.5") free float handguard tube and barrel nut (DPMS LR-308 pattern). It is in brand new condition and has only been screwed onto the upper by hand for mock up. The tube simply screws onto the nut and is intended to be secured with Loc-tite. I'd like to get $75 shipped for it. GONE I also have a Pro Mag flat top AR mount for a 30mm red dot sight. It is in good shape and with the exception of a few small handling marks I see no flaws in it. From Pro Mag: "The cantilever mount allows the attachment of Aimpoint, Burris or other 30mm red dot sights to rifles and carbines with Flat Top upper receivers or Picatinny rails. The mount allows co-witnessing of the rifle sights with the red dot sight. The mount is held securely in place by a spring loaded locking bar. An extra battery is concealed under a spare turret cover for Aimpoint M3 optics. Manufactured from hard anodized aircraft grade aluminum. All hardware included. No permanent modification required." I'd like $50 shipped or trade. Would trade either towards a DPMS carbine buffer and buffer spring, 308 Win dies, .308 110 gr Vmaxes or 165-180gr higher BC hunting bullets. email is best: teeteradam@gmail.com Thanks all and God bless you, Adam

Carbon Firer Handguard for LR308B
cowboyarcher replied to concretus's topic in DPMS Panther Arms LR-308 | Bushmaster 308
I'm also looking into the CF handguards, are there any other options to consider other than those listed here? I think the DPMS option w/ screws rather than glue maybe what I pursure. . . As far as I can tell, the DPMS is in it's own class as far as price goes? -
Not sure how to get a photo out of google loaded on this forum, but here are the parts I have acquired: https://lh4.googleusercontent.com/-9Z3ZgwjhM60/UYMJrA4T8vI/AAAAAAAAALg/fseeNQir0tA/w681-h511/2013-05-02 Just waiting on a BCG, the complete lower (should be able to get it from my dealer early next week), optics and some dies and bullets! Thanks EasyEJL for the mags! I'm not crazy about the design of the EGW handguard, though it only cost me $75 new. There is no stop nut so you are either supposed to screw it down and secure it with loctite or screw it down until it bottoms out again the receiver. I will end up turning some of the threaded portion off to allow the threads to bottom out I think. It is also has to weigh over a pound! The ID is just slightly over 2" so I think I can fit a piece of carbon tubing into it for the main portion of the handguard while retaining only about 2" of the aluminum. Otherwise, I may be able to turn the threads off the barrel nut and just bolt on a piece of carbon tubing. I'd love to just pick up a Troy or one of the carbon tube available, but this build is already at max budget!

Who did your 300 WSM? Did you get a complete upper or just a barrel and bolt? Craddock is willing to build me one when I can lay down the money. . . Sounds like the perfect long range hunting rifle to me!

Sorry, i mised some things on the list! - The lower was complete less the stock and buffer/spring. - Buffer/spring en route. - Upper is coming with a VLTOR/BCM CH - DPMS Muzzle brake - Gas block/tube are accounted for - Scope/Mount accounted for - No BUIS as this will primarily be a hunting rifle. . . I have the go/no gauages from building Savage rifles I believe as well. . . Thanks for the input, don't want to miss some parts!

Thanks again guys, I am excited too! Think I have everything ordered now. . . Here is the build list: - Sun Devil Billet Lower - DPMS Parts Kit - MOE Rifle Stock in OD - MOE overmold rubber grip in OD - Used DPMS upper - EGW free float tube - Red Rock Ordnance BCG (pre order, should be here in May sometime) - 308 Match barrel from Craddock Precision, 16" carbine weight. It's SS and built form a Douglas blank. Should start to take shape over the next couple of weeks. Will need to start getting some reloading supplies as well, 308 is a new round for me. Thanks again for the welcome guys!

I'll PM you re: the mags, and thanks for the link on the BCG! I was hoping to go cheaper, but it's not out of the question that'd I'd be able to raise the funds for the Harris. . . Just need to sell the barrel I have in the classifieds first <thumbsup>

THIS BARREL HAS SOLD! Still need a BCG is someone has one to sell outright. Hi All, I realize this is only my third post, but a build is what drove me to this sight and I have this extra barrel for sale or trade. I need to sell it to complete my first 308 build. . . I have the following barrel for sale or trade: 1 - 16" LR308 carbine barrel. Mid length gas port. Douglas 1:10" blank, 308 Match Chamber. This should be complaint with DPMS pattern guns. Stainless steel, with a standard lathe turned finish, threaded for muzzle device and has the barrel extension installed. This is ready to build with and Craddock's barrels usually shoot about 1/2 MOA, though there is no guarantee on accuracy. Price is $325 shipped. For trades I could used a couple of DPMS pattern308 mags and a DPMS pattern 308 BCG. I have no feedback on this sight, but have plenty on accurateshooter.com, ar15.com, longrangehunting.com and ebay. I can direct you to that if necessary. Item is located in SE WY. I am not set up with an image hosting program at this time, but would be happy to email them. Craddock's website: http://www.craddockprecision.com Please email me: teeteradam@gmail.com Thanks all and God bless, Adam

Thanks fellas! I've been able to locate everything now except a BCG and some mags. . . Excited to begin getting packages and putting pieces together!

Hello Gentlemen, I have recently become interested in the 308 AR platform as an alternative for traditional hunting rifles. I am in SE WY where longer (300-400 yards) shots on Mule Deer, Antelope and Elk are the normal occurance and I enjoy the ergonomics of the AR style so that leads me here. I am in the process of building my first LR308 rifle. I have a complete lower from Sun Devil and a high end match barrel from Craddock Precision (16" standard profile). Any advice for upper, BCG and handguard selection would be much appreciated. I hope to eventually build a 300 WSM upper as well for long range work. This last year my wife and I have been blessed to study the Bible and Christianity full time in a local seminary. It is our goal to pursue God's glory in whatever He leads us to after our studies are done. I hope all my time on this forum and the interactions I will have here will do nothing less than to speak highly of the God I claim to serve. Thanks all and God bless you! Adam
