  1. As long as your not playing favoritism and i'm not the only one that got a warning for foul language, then thats fine. Having a "click" on a forum is just as bad as having a gang in East LA. If we all can't be treated the same, then this is a bad environment. I lay it on the line and i call it how i see it.
  2. So your defending someones honor...good for you. Probably the most ballsy thing you've ever done. Oh and i didn't really tell him that he is on the wrong side of the border. You might want to freshen up on your reading comprehension skills.
  3. You know.. i thought i would share the news of what happened in my state to show a contrast of what happened in CO.....and you saw it as your chance to be an a/s/s/h/o/l/e.
  4. Great news? Now I'm not understanding what your talking about..... I guess it is not national news yet....Last night the California senate passed laws that will effectively ban any semi-auto rifle that can receive a detachable magazine, to include hunting rifles and not just the black scary looking rifles that we all own. Those of us that already own these types of rifles will have to register them with the CA DOJ. If that is the great news your talking about, you might want to move to the other side of the border.
  5. It is nice to hear that someone has good news. We, including sportsmen and hunters, here in California, took a huge loss last night.
  6. I have a jd upper with a fwd assist also. The fwd assist pushes on the bolt carrier to move the bcg forward. My bcg does not have the serrations either. There is a shoulder located approximately in the middle of the bolt carrier and that is what the fwd assist pushes on.
  7. DPMS style bcg doesn't have the fwd assets notches. The fwd assist still works fine with the bcg that does not have the notches on it.
  8. 308 bolt catch. everything is for a 308 except for the buffer tube, it is a DPMS ar15 CARBINE buffer tube. like i said above, i had an ar15 buffer spring and buffer in the tube....so i changed it out for a 308 buffer spring and shorter buffer for the 308. when i charge the weapon it feels like the buffer spring is fully compressing before the buffer gets the chance to bottom out on the buffer tube. How long is the carbine buffer spring supposed to be? 11 1/2 in?
  9. I just got done with my build and the bolt catch will not catch on the bolt face. It catches on the bolt carrier body. I had the wrong buffer spring and buffer so i changed it out to a DPMS 308 buffer spring and 308 buffer. I did not bother to change the buffer tube. No joy, still catches on the bolt carrier and looks to be about an inch short of catching on the bolt face.. The bolt carrier is bottoming out inside the buffer tube. buffer tube is from DPMS. Have never fired the weapon, have only had an empty mag in it. Is the ar15 carbine buffer tube the same as a 308 carbine buffer tube?
  10. I'm in the middle of a build and a free float tube is all i need. As soon as you get me some dimensions and i can compare them to others that i was thinking about, i will make a decision. Like others asked, Is this for a DPMS low profile or will it fit the older high profile? Does the barrel nut connect to the tapered end of this tube or will the rails fit flush with the receiver, making a continous rail?
  11. What are the inside dimensions and do you have a pic with it on a barrel? I really like the look but to me it looks like it has a huge opening.
  12. Thanks for all the replies. I think I'll have a folder of paperwork in my gun case when i get my lower finished and built.
  13. I live in communist california. As far as i know there is no paperwork required from the ATF to purchase an 80% lower. You just buy it, cash and carry, hollow it out and you have a useable lower to build a rifle or pistol. The manufacturer of the 80% lower needs to have a letter from the ATF stating that it is ok for them to be selling an 80% lower. I'm just wondering what the possible pitfalls are by building a rifle from an 80% lower that has been purchased from an authorized seller.
  14. If a person builds a rifle with an 80% lower, how does that person prove that it was a self made rifle to get around LEOs for having an unregistered rifle?
