  1. Thanks for the link planeflyer! Looks like they have some 5 and 10-rounders on the menu over there at DSA and parkerized or painted steel is fine. Hope the Thermold folks eventually get their act together and hook up with RRA to make those long-awaited Poly mags in 3-5-10.
  2. RRA has gone totally dark on this issue. They have been advertising those 3-5-10 rd LAR-8 poly mags in their catalog for over a year and has not delivered...and they won't say why or when they will deliver.
  3. Need a good link to getting those 3-5-10 rd LAR-8 poly mags that RRA has been advertising in their catalog for over a year and has not delivered...
  4. I was getting similar results with the Hornady ZombieMax, which are essentially the same projectiles/brass in a different box. I had a 3-shot group at less than 0.4" and consistent 5-shot groups between 0.6"-to-0.8" with a RRA 20" Predator Upper and a Meopta 4-12x50 scope.
  5. Regardless of AR-10 clone platform we prefer (ArmaLite, DPMS/Rem, RRA, etc.), it shoots a heavy round that you don't have to worry about minimum projectile speeds, barrel lengths and fragmentation effect to determine the ultimate stopping power.
  6. I have been trying to get those 5 and 10-rd poly mags from RRA, but they keep on giving me the runaround and claim they are always out of stock. I think they are keeping them for sale with the new rifles and are not selling them OTC.
  7. AR-10 vs AR-15...a much larger projectile, with only a bit more recoil and a lot more downrange potential.
  8. Thanks brutha...now if I could only find a source for some 5 and 10-rd poly mags for my LAR-8...
  9. Tried to get some 5 and 10-rd 308 poly mags from RRA, but they are giving me the royal runaround. Anyone having luck getting these from local dealers ?
  10. Had a similar problem with my LAR-8 and three different uppers a few years back. There were some extremely sharp and jagged edges on the back side of the chamber lugs that needed to be smoothed out. They were scoring every piece of brass that went into the chamber, with some occasional FTEs. Sent the uppers back to RRA for the (partial) remedy, and admonished them for not being more attentive to QA/QC before sending the uppers out for sale the first time. Had to send one back a second time and now it's all g2g.
  11. I am new to this forum, but not new to our 2A rights and obligations. I have been very active on arfcom and the LI Firearms Forum and hope to both learn and contribute some good stuff here too. Unfortunately, I live behind the iron curtain in new yorkistan and the brutal czarist cuomoski has seen fit to compromise the gun rights of honest citizens...hopefully things will change, but who knows for sure as the SAFE act casts a dark cloud over us, making us anything but safe from the tyrannical state and federal administrations. I own a RRA LAR-8, as well as a few other 7.62x51/.308 Win platforms and love the original Stoner AR-10 concept and the many spinoffs. Bummer that they all didn't follow the same compatibility path as mil-spec AR-15s. The .308 is a great round, extremely versatile for a variety of game and the AR-10 family is a great way to send those rounds downrange, accurately and reliably. I am looking forward to this new experience here.
