I was in the same boat as you and I still don't really have much details to offer. I pretty much copied my AR15 80%'s dimensions nearly exactly. Here she is as she sits now:

Greetings all. I figured since I have a 308 build in the works (two, actually) that I should join the forum. Below is one my semi finished 80% lowers (only milled the FCG pocket so far) sitting underneath a DPMS Oracle upper. I'm now considering a 9 or 10" free float handguard but I'm finding its not as easy when it comes to DPMS .308s and their different rail heights, etc. Anyway, I look forward to scouring this forum all sorts of good knowledge
