Having built four ar15s and using one for 20 years in the military; familiarity and reliability were high on my list when deciding on a long range rifle. As far as Armalite vs. DPMS... although there are more choices available for DPMS as far as barrels and billet uppers / lowers I still went with Armalite. I like the company and had previously acquired a lot of magazines for it so it was natural for me to migrate that direction. I have not been disappointed yet.
