  1. thanks guys, your help was much appreciated. I endorse the ZQI, lol. Also the Ferfrans muzzle device is awesome. With it installed it pushes the noise forward, but it would make you lose sight of your target (pushed the muzzle up something awful). With the device off, the brake worked very well but gawt damn it was loud. I like having both options.
  2. UPDATE. so opening that barrel gas port to 7/64 (0.1095) was the ticket. Kept the original gas block and it cycled 80 rounds of the ZQI 762 147 grain perfectly. Bolt held open on last round, case thrown right where should be and came out clean. I'll still install the adjustable gas block, cause the 150 grain Winchester 308 had a kick like a mule.
  3. Thanks Robo, you've been a great help. Gas block is coming today and I'm going to rush home slap it on and head to the range.
  4. Btw, I fiddled with the barrels gas port. I put a 3/32 bit in there and it went in just fine. So I opened it up with a 7/64 bit. Figure since the new block is adjustable might as well max it out.
  5. It shoots for poop, but I want my right to have it.
  6. I'm grasping at straws here. Waiting on my adjustable gas block and over thinking as usual.
  7. Wait, it just dawned on me. Is it possible the muzzle device is causing it to act up??
  8. Yes, Its the Ferfrans. I'll do a write up on it once I get this thing dialed in. I was to focused on the cycling issue to notice what the Ferfrans was doing. I did manage to get the scope dialed in at 50 yards though. :))
  9. The Salt works set is pretty damn nice. The price is even better. Heres some pics. I've been wanting to go to A PLACE TO SHOOT since in can go out past 100 yards now, lol. Next time you go let me know and i'll join you.
  10. The brass was coming out clean with no scratches, except for the one that failed to eject, those had opening squeezed.
  11. The Winchester 150 grain managed to at least expel the round.
  12. Yes AR15barrels Randall. Awesome guy, great watching him work. He even mentioned that I would probably need an adjustable gas block. I checked the block and alignment and it was dead on with no leaks. It's a set screw model, it was $24 ar15/10 model in 0.750 so it fit. Maybe that's the culprit. I have a ferfrans CQB brake and attachment,
  13. Sounds great. Off to Home Depot
  14. I ran it wet, the bolt holds open on one round. ran 20 rounds of 147 grain ZQI 762 I got from Walmart. First I put one round in the PMAG and it fired and bolt locked open. I put 3 rounds and fired, round one fired but bolt came back and closed on the spent case. Had to pull the charging handle to eject the spent case and chamber the next round. With the ZQI this was the case with every round. Next I ran 10 rounds of Winchester 150 grain 308 I picked up oaktrees rifle range. One of the guys shooting there said that the ZQI is underpowered, and try something else. I put three rounds of the Winchester in the PMAG. Fired the first round and it shot fine, spent case flopped out right next to me on the table but it didn't pick up the next round. I had to pull the charging handle to load a live round. This happened with all 10 Winchester rounds. I'm running a 16 inch barrel with rifle length gas, and a fixed gas tube. When Randal was doing the assembly he drilled the gas hole, maybe it needs to be bigger?? Thoughts?
  15. First off, thanks for starting a thread/moving the posts. I confirmed that it's the correct rifle length buffer and spring. Buffer is 5.33oz and the spring is 39 coils and 12.75 inches. I saw that Fulton opens the port to 0.1095 on the 16 inch rifle length barrels. What number drill bit is that? Link to one one Amazon?
