  1. If this is converted brass, case neck wall thickness is most likely the problem. Without the projectile in the case, the neck is not expanded, so it fits in the gauge, after seating the projectile, the neck is expanded past the point of chambering due to too thick brass. Go to 300blktlk.com and check out "Brass, the good, the bad and the ugly." LC brass is always good to go. Some of the others, not so much.
  2. Ramshot TAC is a great powder for the .308. I load a 125 grain Nosler BT over 51 grains of TAC. This gives me 2780 FPS out of a 12.5" barreled AR. TAC gave me the highest velocity and lowest ES spread of any powder I tried. Tac is clean burning and meters well thru automatic powder throwers due to it's ball shape. I believe you will like loading with TAC.
  3. I have a complete 7mm-08 upper off of a Remington R25. It is the factory camoflauge upper with a low profile gas block installed. It is complete with original BCG, charging handle, etc. The barrel was threaded by GEMTECH. $700.00 shipped. The upper shoots great. I built a .308 SBR side charger on the factory lower. That is the reason I have the spare complete upper. If this will work for you, let me know. Kelvin.
  4. Hello. I have been building 300 blackout SBR's and now would like to move up to .308ar's. I have a Remington R 25 in 7mm-08. I would like to replace the factory barrel with a 12.5" .308 barrel. The 7mm-08 barrel is rifle length gas. The 12.5" .308 barrel is mid-length gas. I am retaining the factory A2 stock and buffer tube. I have been researching this, and if I understand correctly, I should be good to go by retaining the factory stock, buffer tube, spring and buffer, correct? This gun will be run suppressed 100% of the time. I will be installing a SLR Rifleworks adjustable gas block to help control the over gassing. Any more suggestions? Thanks.
  5. Hello from SE Texas. I have built a couple of 300 blackouts, now I am looking to move up to building a .308ar. I have a few questions that I hope to find the answers to here. Thanks in advance for all your help.
