Now that I'm older and have a bit of cash and time, not retired yet, I'm getting into some hobbies. My interests are all over the place including shooting 45-90 BPCR's lobbing 500 grain bullets 1000 yards down range with 90 grains of black powder. The AR platform looks fun and I wanted something that was a bit different from the .223 with more challenge.

We all know there is a diff between the .308 and 7.62 X51. I see some ARs listed as .308. Some as 7.62. I have also seen from Fulton Armory a .308/7.62 NATO Hybrid Chamber. Didn't know there was such a hybrid. Any thoughts on a .308 vs a hybrid chamber? Thanks

Thanks for the info .. and I'm in CO, and its wanting to be a bit like CA ...

Looks like a fun project to build a .308 AR and get a good education on how they work. When starting a build do people start with an upper or lower assemble and work from there? Thanks
