I put 2 SSA-E triggers in my AP4 .308 and 6.5 Grendel and 2 G2S in my DPMS classic 20" .308 and AR15 5.56.
Took them out for a spin yesterday and they made a big difference.
One word comes to mind, "Fantastic".
In Georgia we can take 2 bucks and 10 does and in truth I've never 2nd guessed that. But this year I've noticed the does were far and few in between.
There is a buck only time during December but I'm thinking 10 does are to many to take per hunter.
I've shot 3 deer this year and my freezers full however I'm trying to shoot one more for my parents.
I'm waiting on 4 Geiselles (2 SSA E's & GS2's) I bought on Black Friday sale from Primary Arms to go in my AR's. I'm really looking forward to seeing how they run in my rifles.
The Timney trigger made a tremendous improvement in my 700.
I was on the fence about buying one of their uppers before I bought the AP4. I was told that I needed to buy their lower to go with it because they had a fitment issue on other Manufactured lowers.
I know it's not what it was prior to Sandy Hook but its not bad compared to 2013. Although powder seems hard to come by.
I've had no problem as of late buying 6,5 Grendel, 308 or 30.06.
He's not as good as my other one I posted but he's a much bigger bodied deer. I shot him while chasing a doe and hit him a little further back then I wanted but that's what happens when hunting in a swamp where the trees are 2' apart.
I've been hunting with my new AP4 but have had no luck so I took out my Remington 700 30.06 with new timney trigger and bingo.
I agree, I knew when I bought this rifle the range would be limited for ethical kills. I was just curious what kind of experience everyone else had with the AP4. Thanks for everyone's input.
I'm a lefty to and i've never had a problem with any AR either but they all had deflectors. I'd buy something else with a deflector or you'll be pelted with hot brass. just my two cents.
No I'm talking just reaching the distance accurately, best shot on deer for me with the Grendel has been 425, 600 on paper. Although I've read about guys taking deer further then that.
I think the 18" is a better choice for distance shooting but I like the way the AP4 handles, especially in my tree stands.
Its a good 2.5lbs lighter then my 20" model and just much easier to maneuver in confined spaces. But its still a .308.
