  1. Have had this out to the range a couple times now and it seems something goes wrong with it every time. After fixing the buffer/spring problem shots were all over the place, double checked the scope/mount tightness and it was fine. Took it back out again Friday night and the bolt catch broke. Decided to keep shooting it since it doesn't affect function. Ended up getting brass in the bolt some how and locked it up. Was able to get it apart when I got home, cleaned, and inspected it. I didn't find anything else wrong with it. I'll have to get a new bolt catch and see what goes wrong next...
  2. not for me, its lefty or no shooty. Motorcycle accident...
  3. I think it would be great if us lefties didn't get neglected...
  4. I got the replacement spring and buffer in today. Slapped it in and the bolt is going back all the way allowing the bolt catch to engage the bolt face. The bolt catch could engage a little further up when engaged by hand. When an empty mag pushes it up it goes up quite a bit more, it will be fine until I get the money to replace it with something better. The replacement buffer looks to be the same and the spring has 28 coils and is 11 1/2 inches. Looks just like the pic survivalshop posted. Thank you all for your help on this.
  5. I appreciate the thought, let me see what they end up sending me and I'll go from there. It's no big rush as I don't know when I'll even get the time to go shoot it again.
  6. I'm going to be taking their spring, I am kinda tight on money right now so I don't know when I'll be able to afford a new spring. Income in my house has been cut down to the point I don't know if I'll be able to pay my bills right now.
  7. I haven't been able to find anything similar so I'm gonna wait to see what they send me. The SASS as far as i know has a rifle length system on it so it wouldn't work for me since I'm running the carbine system.
  8. DPMS said that I had to deal with the company I bought it from. I sent them an email and received a reply back stating that they were going to get the correct/new buffer and spring out to me. Hopefully this will correct the problem, I will update when I receive the new parts. Thanks for the help.
  9. It was seated all the way when I pulled it out. I emailed DPMS for a wild chance to see if they would do anything for me. If not I will probably hold off on ordering anything untill I have the money to get the upgraded buffer as well.
  10. any recommendations as I start looking around?
  11. So it's not going all the way back. I had my wife stick an allen wrench in the little hole on the buffer tube and it went in about 1 3/8 in. so I think with the thickness of the end of the buffer tube it still has about 1/2 to 3/4 of an inch to compress. I didn't have actual grease but I used some engine assembly lube to test and it wasn't compressed/squished/spread out at all.
  12. I'll give that a check when I get back home, gotta go pick up the wife from the airport.
  13. There is nothing I can do to get the bolt back far enough to have the bolt catch engage the bolt face with the buffer and spring installed. I can get it to lock back with the bolt catch on the carrier body, where the bolt inserts, but not on the bolt face.
  14. I'll wait to hear back from guru with the info on his spring before I start looking into new springs as I'm a little tapped out on money right now.
  15. Okay, I thought that was the relaxed measurement but when you said to get the relaxed measurement I wasn't 100% sure. The buffer is good to go right? at least with the length?
