What do you prefer? .270 or 30 06 and why?

I go 270. But I use the Sierra 140 grain bullets. Never had an animal get up after just one shot. And I dropped a good sized bull elk at 800 or so yards with it. I have a Winchester model 70 in '06, but my 270 is my go to bolt gun. Or maybe my 250 Savage. It's a death ray on whitetails. -
Close enough. Everything in Georgia is "just outside of Atlanta".

New old guy. Need a new project and an AR-10 seems right. Vietnam survivor, tinker around with 1911's, M1a's and black rifles. Being an old Gunners Mate makes it quiet natural for me. Had 2 liver transplants in '07 so I don't get out as much as I would like. Any questions just ask. If I can answer I will.
