Well guys, I feel totally stupid and inept. I got home made dinner and just broke down the rifle. The extraction lever was flopping around. take it apart and theres no spring in it,not even fragments. I go back and think, when i first got it i half assed broke it down, oiled it and put it in the rifle. Complete stupidity on my part. I have to think it didn't have the spring when I got it. I thank you guys for the advise.

Just took my LR308 out for the first time and got to shoot it. From bullet #1 to #20, the brass was not ejecting and caused double feeds. The upper is a Panther DMPS that I bought as a complete upper. I chambered a round removed the mag, fired it and it still wouldn't eject the brass.It did on several occasions attempt to eject the brass but it got stuck in the ejection port as if it didn't have enough momentum. I am gonna tear it apart completely (Bolt Carrier) and make sure the extractor has the spring and pivots like it should. I checked the brass and there was no marks on them even indicating the extractor was engaging the brass. Any Ideas, never had this problem with my AR15. Anyone have issues like this or problems with DPMS Bolt carriers?

I heard they do too, but haven't found it. reading all the risks of using duracoat with out complete body suits and re breathers, freaking me out. but all I'm spraying is a few parts.

I'm bored, So I am gonna build another rifle. Not sure If its a 308 or AR15, However I am going to take my time and want to paint a bitchin desert camo pattern. I have some background with an air brush and have a nice one with compressor and moisture trap. Sorry too wordy, question is i want input on Cerakote or Duracoat. I really don't have the oven to bake it, so leaning towards Duracoat. Opinions?

I have a DPMS made upper. Mine is more like the free float smooth hand guard. However mine had a sling swivel stud on the front and I mounted a harris Bi pod on it. That free float tube doesn't look like it has a sling stud mounted on it. Or are you gonna just machine it to mount a bi pod? If you go to Introduction section on this sight, look up "Newbie from Cali" I posted it and there is a photo of my set up.

Welcome aboard. I also have the Nikon M308, mine is 4-16x power. You got a smoking deal, considering I paid over $500 for mine. I have the Luth-Ar stock, its awesome!

I've got that stock. I love it and its half the cost of a Magpul.

Got an Ammo Question. What grain do you recommend for a 1-10 twist 18" bull barrel. I want a good long range ammo 500-700 yard shots. Ive got a 168 gr matched ammo for the zero at 100 yards

Hello all, A lot of handgun experience due the my LE career, and have 2 Ar-15"s (1 for work 1 at home). recently had back surgery so I've been home on the mend. Wanted a long range rifle, so I searched the internet and decided to build a 308 AR. I built a Detroit Gun Works Lower, with a Timney 1 piece trigger. Luth AR sniper stock with buffer tube. The upper is a DPMS 18" bull barrel. I mounted a Nikon M 308 scope with the 1 piece 20 MOA mount. I also mounted a Harris Bi-Pod. Now I need to heal up and get to go out and zero this Bad Boy in. I read this sight religiously and learn a lot from you guys.

I have an 18" bull barrel on the LR308 I just built. Would you guys recommend a Muzzle brake? I was under the impression you don't use 1 on a bull barrel.

Been off work after back surgery. So after internet porn got boring, I searched the web and built an AR-15, then my AR 308. Keeps me busy.

Thank you for clarifying that. I was not aware. So my AR 308 which is Detroit Gun Works is a 308 AR, not an AR-10?
