  1. whoops.. my bad ..lol ..Weather was a factor. but this time it was cooler ..
  2. I dunno..But you saw both videos from my previous testing ...one with the gas port opened almost all the way and the other 3/4 way closed..and the velocity results were different ..Im not too sure about the whole sound thing
  3. thanx.. Im still experimenting with it.. I am awaiting some subsonic 230gr loads for further testing using my buddies sound suppressor.. I am very curious to see how quiet it can get :)
  4. Here is the updated chronographed test footage
  5. Never really had any failure to eject or feeding problems with it since i built it..but if yo take a look at this video ..I am ejecting brass in the 1 oclock direction showing an indication of the gun being overgassed.. After turning the gas down 3/4 way to close ..I am now ejecting Brass at a 4 oclock direction which is perfect and the gun is not over gassed.. But i discovered while doing this my bullet velocity increased to about 100fps faster than my previous testing..
  6. Hi Eveyone Ok so i figured out that my 8" SBR in 338fed was over gassed..and i turned the gas selector 3/4 way to the close position and now my AR10 is shooting much smoother and kicking the brass at a 4 oclock direction..I did another chronograph test after i did this and i am gaining about 100fps faster at 2310fps out of my barrel using the same 185gr American Eagle. The weather today was cooler than before ..temps were around 87F. Any thoughts? I made a video to record the results from today but i have not yet uploaded it..
  7. here is a link to another thread started of the accuracy results in the 338 fed http://forum.308ar.com/topic/11874-testing-the-338-federal-8-ar10-sbr-accuracy-at-90-yards/
  8. The next video will be a pig hunt..i am curious on those results..But i will not shoot one without taking video and reporting it back here
  9. no problem..I know its not a professional test nor setup due to the fact i wasnt even sitting using a bench rest or using a precision trigger system nor a very expensive high end optic..but at 90yards and just wingin it from a standing position with multiple shots it wasnt too bad..Some other people thought it might start to keyhole at that distance..but i guess i proved them wrong
  10. Ok So i finally got off my lazy butt and put together the Accuracy testing video that i previously mentioned in my other thread. The results werent too bad for such a short barrel..I was at 90 yards in a standing position. My scope was previously zeroed in at a 25yard distance so i had to a do a little bit of compensating..The wind was blowing the target a little bit during that day so it started to sway back and forth..But overall i think it was a successful test..The results are below.
  11. Ok fellers..Heading to the range soon to do some accuracy and distance testing.. I Will report back here later tonight
  12. I am not a reloader myself but based on multiple reloaders that I have spoken with .they claim that Alliant powders are temp sensitive ..If you know any reloaders ask them to see if they have the same results I would like to know this.. I also did a google search on this claim and there is a full review from Rifle Shooter Magazine and they claim the same thing ..Please click on the link and you guys can be the judge for yourself http://www.rifleshootermag.com/accuracy-tests/fact-fiction-gunpowder-temperature-sensitivity/
