  1. Sorry about the delay in response, weird shift at the job. I pulled the rifle out just now in an attempt to mortar it free. A couple ginger attempts and a handful more forceful attempts resulted in the bcg not freezing and actually got stuck a few milikeeters back from where it started. A few mortar attempts freed it back to the stuck position forward. Guru, I will see if ncan dis-assemble from the front forward tomorrow. This stuff is still relatively new to me, as my ar-15 build came as a completely assembled upper from palmetto. Definitely took that for granted, as evident now. But this is part of the reason I decided to piece together this rifle, in hopes I could learn more of the ins and outs. I’m regards to recoil system I believe it is just a standard M5 rifle buffer and spring. I really appreciate all all the info and suggestions so far. I’ll update tomorrow when I break it down.
  2. Thanks guys I will be letting it soak real good first and then if that doesn’t work move to persuasion. No headspace check was done, as this issue literally happened directly after initial assembly. Parts: Blitzkrieg Tactical 80% lower Aero upper Blitzkrieg Tactical BCG Faxon medium taper 18” Basic LPK rifle length Gas system Luth-Ar stock

  4. Hey good evening folks, I recently assembled my first .308 build. After getting all the pieces together, I worked the bolt assembly open and closed repeatedly and oiled everything in the normal spots. I noticed it was a little stiff when pulling the charging handle back towards the last couple pulls but chalked it up to working out the kinks. I pulled it out the other day and the bolt is stuck and will not release to charge properly. I had a friend come over and we looked it over but to no avail. He wondered if the forward assist may have somehow gotten stuck in the forward position but we had no way of checking that. Has anybody here ever had any issues similar to this? Move uploaded a quick clip highlighting the issue. Is a gunsmith in my future or is this something I could remedy at home with basic tools? 6788C808-DC60-4928-9BC6-F56E794C6118.MOV
  5. Hey all, I currently have an Aero Precision 12" MLOK Gen2 handguard mounted on my rifle. Has not been fired, comes with mounting screws and barrel nut. Not wrong with it at all, it simply came as a set fromAero when I ordered my M5E1 Enhanced Upper. It wasn't until later I decided to build with an 18" barrel and rifle length gas system. For me, I just find it not aesthetically easy to look at with the gas block sticking out. Brand new from Aero, handguard goes for $180. I'll sell for $150 or trade for 15" handguard (not too picky on style), will also entertain trades for other parts/accessories. Thanks for looking.
  6. Yes sir, I spent a handful of year in the deep north 707 but I'm in Contra Costa now. I actually have been having a weird issue that just started when cycling. It feels like the bcg is somehow frozen inside, I can only get like a couple centimeters of pull, ejector door pops down, but that's it. A more rifle savvy friend of mine and I are getting together this week to check it out. Another small issue i found... Not sure how I would've managed it, but I seem to have over bored the safety select switch holes. The switch wiggle around like a loose tooth, but still functions. I'm gonna browse around and see if there's maybe a slightly larger diameter switch???
  7. How's it going everybody, I could've sworn I had made a intro thread for myself before but it appears I did not! I am new to the .308 caliber and have pieced together my bare bones rifle so far. It's been a longer road for me between getting married, buying my first house, and crazy hours at work, this build has legitimately gone on for over a year. My rifle is built from a Blitzkrieg tactical "lightweight" 80% lower, matched with an Aero M5E1 upper. Basic parts kits from primary arms, some no name buffer tube, spring, and buffer, Luth-AR fixed stock. Blitzkrieg Tactical's dual ejector black nitride BCG, Bravo Company Mod 4 Charging Handle, Faxon medium taper 18" barrel, Blitzkrieg Tactical octacomp tuneable compensator, and for now, Aero's 12" MLOK M5E1 handguard. Not fired yet, no optics on it yet, haven't even picked up my measley 10 round CA Compliant mags yet. But I'm proud to have put it all together myself. This was my first personal 80% build, though I have helped friend build theirs. Happy to be a part of the club!
  8. Well... any feedback on those bad boys?
  9. This particular build will be mild hunting, long(er) distance shooting for me, and simply to add a .30 cal rifle to my slowly growing collection. I've been on fence about 18 vs20"

    Hey there

Their email list is where I caught the deal actually. I'll snap some pictures when I can

    Hey there

I got pretty fortunate, the Blitzkrieg Lightweight Lower is slimmed and shaved down at the trigger pocket to help save a little weight (haha). In its description they mention that most uppers will have overlap once set up but recommended a certain Aero upper for premium fit. Aero just happened to be having a sale on it a week later!
  12. Hey everybody, I'm getting ready to put an order in for my barrel. Right now I'm pretty set on going with a 20" HBAR barrel from Anderson for $112 before tax I believe. Does anybody have any other good options out there? What are your reason for 16-18-20" barrels and heavy barrels vs a standard weight barrel?
  13. This forum is a huge benefit right now to my buddy and myself while we go through our first .308 build. We've both done a couple ar15's but as we're finding this is a fun new project!
