OK guys, first post (other than intro) (second try). Brother in law has me a DPMS Oracle LR-308, new in the box. I pick it up in a couple of weeks. Looking to make it mine, first with a free float hand guard. The rifle has a 16" barrel. I want to put a 12" handguard on it and just wanted to be sure that would work. I think it will as long as I replace the gas block with a low-profile one. I know the rifle has the low profile upper. Can y'all verify the above for me? I like the Midwest Industries handguards. Can you suggest a different one if this one lacks in any areas? I appreciate the help.

Found it from a Google search trying to find out the difference in a DPMS LR-308 LP and HP. Led me here and I glad it did.

Glad to find this forum. Just got a new DPMS Oracle LR-308 and starting to make it mine with some upgrades. I think this is just the place. Thanks for putting up with the stupid questions to follow. :-)
