Thank you @bubbas4570 & @survivalshop. I appreciate it. I wasn't sure if that was possible. Here is what i'm looking at so i can loose the bullet button and avoid the whole assault rifle registration, and use the rifle the way it was intended to be used. the whole not compatible with rifle length recoil system was like a curve ball.

Hello everyone. I'm new to the forurm and new to firearms as well, but the big bit me. So here's my dilemma. Want build 308 ar10 with 18" barrel mid length gas system. i live in California and need to make it legal. i really like the Thordsen frs15 stock. It isn't compatible with rifle length gas tubes. So will mid length gas 18" work with carbine gas buffer? Like i said im new so if my question sounds foolish i apologize ahead of time
