  1. Thank you for all the quick feedback and the welcome-aboards. I hadn’t found the PSA-specific forum thread until now and that’s a goldmine of great info which will likely address all my concerns. I’ve decided I best stick with a PSA stripped upper if not a complete PSA upper assembly if the price is right. Seems there’s just no telling which upper will work with which lower despite being “DPMS compatible”. It just pains me to see the cost of a complete PSA upper go up over $100 in just a couple of months but I’m sure that’s across the board not just Palmetto... guess it’s not likely to get any better anytime soon.
  2. Can’t recall the specific phrasing used but I was doing a general google search on the “AR-10” platform as I was new to it and trying to learn the differences between Armalite vs DPMS as well just general AR308 vs AR15 info. I’m new to the AR world, have recently built my first AR-15 (PSA PA-15), acquired a PA-10 lower and now researching ways on how to build it into a bad-ass large frame AR style semi-auto rifle! Great website and a wealth of information here. Thanks for creating this site.
  3. Hello fellow firearms and especially AR 308/large frame AR enthusiasts. My name is Ed, 52 years old, live in McAllen, TX and former U.S. Army OH-58 warrant officer pilot. Other than qualifying with the M16 (A1 I believe it was!) during BT in 1987 I’m fairly new to the AR world however I have shot different firearms all my life and I just built my first AR-15 a few months ago (PA15 .223 Wylde from PSA). I’ve since purchased a stripped PA-10 lower from PSA and still haven’t decided how I’d like to build it. I already made a lengthy post in the “build” forum with lots of specific questions regards parts recommendations, calibers, etc but I wanted to introduce myself here and say thanks to whoever started this awesome website! Also would welcome any and all input over on the build forum. I have already learned a ton about the AR308 platform from the many articles and forums here and looking forward to building my first large frame AR!
  4. Hello all. I’m Ed, new to this forum and fairly new to the AR world but have shot other weapons all my life and built my first AR-15 (from PSA) a couple months ago. I now have a PSA Gen 3 PA-10 stripped lower receiver and trying to decide how to build it out. I’ve watched the prices on PSA’s website go up steadily over the last few months on all their parts but especially complete upper assemblies. Can anybody recommend another upper manufacturer that will reliably work with my PSA lower? Also is there another manufacture of lower parts that will work with the PA 10 lower? I already have a stock, grip, buffer tube and trigger from another PA-15 build kit but need all the PA-10 specific parts such as pivot pin, take down pin, bolt catch, mag release, and safety. I’m trying to avoid buying the entire PSA PA-10 lower build kit for $179 when I only need about $20-30 of parts. I’m also wondering if the spring I got with the PA-15 kit will work in this PA-10 build and which buffer I need if my spring does work. Lastly, I am still debating on whether to go with .308 or 6.5 Creedmoor... Any and all suggestions are welcome! Thanks in advance.
