  1. I built the rifle in 2012 and have worn out two barrels since then. I shoot a lot; minimum 20k rounds a year. More when republicans are in office. I have been a trigger-puller since I was in the military in the 1980’s. I joined this site to find and share experiences with patriotic gun-nuts; not beta-male asshats parked on their couches who only shoot video games. 98Z5Z and dpete clearly want to tear down people than talk about guns. You guys are eunuchs. As a veteran I’m ashamed I served for people like you. I have better things to do and will not be back to this site.
  2. Got the KAK LR308 dual ejector bolt on Friday; for rifle with Aero upper & lower, with Lantac BC, Timney trigger. Many reasons but basically I was curious to see if it might be more reliable and last longer. I shoot one or more of my guns daily; more so if a Republican is in office. So the KAK bolt functioned well but felt a little ‘rough’; and it seized up on FTF dud rounds. Had to drop the mag, grab the charge handle and slam rifle butt on a hard surface. Yeah, I shoot cheap ammo to practice; I also demand my guns to shoot anything and everything and go bang first time every time. Loathe temperamental guns. Contacted KAK and Kurt Kosman, President, replied to my email; basically he assumed I was an idiot and whatever was wrong was my fault. So I went back and re-checked head space and looked it over for anything that appeared off. Finally I decided all looked good and perhaps it just needed some trigger time to break in. I shot up my personal range and by 200 rounds the cycling felt smoother and it quit locking up on FTF dud rounds. Today I’m at 350 rounds and the gun is running smoothly and 100% reliable now. So I wanted to pass on to my gun-brethren my experience; KAK LR308 Dual Ejector Bolt works very well, but needed to be broken in. I won’t swear by it until I hit 10k rounds and shoot it in a few 2-gun matches; but with Biden in office that will take longer than usual. Oh yeah; don’t bother contacting KAK. If you want to be blown off with less wait, call your ex.
  3. Good call, shooterex.
  4. I agree with edgecrusher 100% I also strongly suggest never hacking into the metal; for DPMS guns try different BCGs and buffer springs since some parts just work better together. An adjustable gas block is also useful for tweaking. It will be something simple.
  5. You know, I just checked the bag of parts I have tried and the ejectors were flat or had a chamfered edge. None like your link. I’ll try yet another ejector before I trash the bolt. Thanks for the input.
  6. I have tried mult ejectors, flat and rounded. Just this one bolt (brand new) never worked well. I recently tried the KAK dual-ejector bolt and it also works perfectly. Digging it; looking forward to trying it in a match.
  7. I have an AR308 I built during Obama, and it’s been perfect (after testing and tweaking). DPMS compatible parts w Aero upper/lower. Lantec carrier. When I went looking for a backup bolt, I tried several and found some worked better than others. One however, ALWAYS produces stovepipes. I’ve tried mult extractors, extractor springs, donuts, inserts, ejectors & ejector spring. Same ejector and extractor on different bolt work perfectly. But that one bolt never seems to work. And I don’t remember the brand. I’ve attached pics; currently stripping it and trashing. So has anyone ever had a bolt that just never worked well?
