If not "Broken in yet" means using a hammer and wooden dowel and hitting it harder than needed to extract an empty case, I don't think I want it Broken in. Besides a new barrel and BCG and still does the same thing it is more of a problem of Breaking in. Just Sayin'

After running some single rounds through the Not an AR-10 I have decided that maybe the receiver was milled too short. New Barrel, new BCG and you still have to use a heavy hammer to beat the charging handle back to extract a spent round. Next stop Gunsmith!

I piggybacked this on another post. Sorry about that, but sounded like my problem. Anyhow, I bought a stock DPMS Oracle from a lady whose husband had passed. I also got a couple of hundred rounds of Lake City 175 grain LRHT factory ammo and one box of steel cased Tulamo. Out at our range the first round cycled OK, the next two had to be beaten out of the chamber. I sh*t-canned the rest and started using the LC and they did not fare any better. I cleaned and inspected everything. (Gun hadn't been fired very much) Anyhow I got a new barrel and BCG and still it won't cycle. I am going out to our range tomorrow and will run a few reloads and also try single loading to see if it ejects said brass. Thanks for having me. P.S. Sorry! I should have gone to the intro page first. The firearm was a lightly used gun and all stock.I only fired a few steel cased and then dumped them. I will start a new thread thanks.

Howdy! I am a brand new member from northern Az. Been shooting and hunting all my life. I have several AR platform guns plus many others. Just got an AR-10 a few months ago.

I am a new member and am late to the party. I aquired a DPMS Oracle from an estate sale along with a couple of hundred rounds of LC 175 gr, LROT ammo. The first few rounds were Tulamo steel. First round fired and cycled, next round half-cycled, tried two more with the same results and ended up with brokenn cases and had to drive it out of the chamber. After that it did it with the LC factory loads. I replaced the barrel, gas block and tube. It didn't help, I replaced the BCG same problem. Seems strange after replacing all these parts it won't cycle and to extract an empty takes a Dowel and a Hammer hitting it harder than I would like.
