Gebben117
Looking into getting one and wondering if anyone has a lot of experience with one. This will be my first 308 AR. If their is anything better for the same price or less please let me know. Thanks.
Merle
The good: Ambidextrous controls, lightweight, uses DPMS low pattern handguards, Armalite length receiver extension, somewhat inexpensive. The bad: S&W decided to makes the bolt, carrier, and barrel extension proprietary. One can swap out the barrel and BCG with any DPMS compatible parts they like once they wear out the original barrel though.

Cliff R
No mention of the barrel being chrome lined. Not really a big deal unless you forget to clean it after an outing. Of course it goes without saying that we should clean these weapons after a day at the range, hunting trip or plinking the back yard. However in my case I've grown very fond of chrome lined barrels and using other Mil-Spec parts that are either coated, parkerized or chromed. I love being able to run a dozen or so magazines thru any of my AR's then just toss it in the gun safe and get to it at a later date. One of my 308 AR's is a DPMS Oracle. Good accuracy right out of the box and the best trigger I've seen on an entry-level gun to date. I scoped it and lower rail on the stock hand guard and ready to go.......oh, A2 stock as well....
