James BSeries
I'm new to this building a gun AR , So I ask a stupid question. Will any Bolt Carrier work in the B upper Receiver. i know there are differences in the Bolts an Barrel Extensions, an you cannot mix Bolt Carriers an Bolts. I know the two difference patterns. so what about the cycling of the BCG in the upper
98Z5V
Any Armalite AR-10 BCG will work in it. Their BCGs never changed. What barrel are you running?
James BSeries
The BCG is a Rubber City Armory # 3HP-001 with the DPMS Bolt, Ordering a X-Caliber 308 DPMS Barrel Extension , 24 inch, 875 gas port, 5/8 24 threads. Jeff Larson At Rubber City think I will be ok with this set up . Do you have any input on my build you can share.
James BSeries
Yes I'm sending the Bolt to x-Caliber for correct head spacing.

Expand Yeah, I have a ton of input, but the bottom line is, it should work. I wouldn't put all your eggs in one basket on your barrel manufacturer, but that's my opinion. I have full Armalite AR-10 guts running inside Aero Precision M5 receivers, and it's badass - so I know that of the cross between the two platforms (Armalite and DPMS-based) is done right - then they work right. Nutshell version, right there. Be ready to run Armalite AR-10 mags that work in the 10B platform. Mags that typically run in the 10A platform will not work.
