zinner Posted December 5, 2011 Report Posted December 5, 2011 I haven't had to worry about this, because I have a JP handguard with no rails, but I am looking to get a Gas block with with a rail integrated (currently have a low profile block). Purpose is for Iron sights. DPMS lists 2 .936 block with different heights. Which should I get? Or what do I measure to determine the upper rail height. Or doesn't it really matter so much?308-GB-SR9http://www.dpmsinc.com/store/products/?prod=1778&cat=1775GB-SR9http://www.dpmsinc.com/store/products/?prod=1364
zinner Posted December 6, 2011 Author Report Posted December 6, 2011 It would be flip up sights, magpul mbus ones since they are so affordable.
imschur Posted December 6, 2011 Report Posted December 6, 2011 Well the MBUS need to be on the same plane so you have two options. Get a block like this, or get the railed gas block of your choice and add a riser block to it.
goshinkaibushi Posted December 6, 2011 Report Posted December 6, 2011 Just a heads up... Magpul specifically warns against placing their MBus front sight on a gas block, as the heat will damage the sight.Justin
zinner Posted December 11, 2011 Author Report Posted December 11, 2011 Well looks like I am going to rethink what I am going todo.
rt7 Posted January 1, 2012 Report Posted January 1, 2012 Mega uppers match up with the DPMS high (older) pattern.
