MaDuce Posted January 25, 2012 Report Posted January 25, 2012 Found some C&R handgun frames for $25 each. I use these things for scratch building, since scratch building handguns is banned in California but modification isn't. In other words, I buy them just for the serial numbers on the frame. Better yet, most of the frames are CZ-52 and Tokarev frames, a very good starting platform for making the sort of handguns I specialize in, namely 10mm and magnums.I've been wanting to do a .22 Magnum and a 10mm. The .22 Magnum is 100% personal build and contains no innovations that the Sova doesn't share. The 10mm however is aimed at making a 10mm handgun with the torso and recoil of a 9mm. I intend to use a Ruger P-94 upper for the build. Both should be similar in terms of challenge. The .22 Magnum will cost 1/3 as much as the 10mm but the 10mm will have some crucial innovations. Which do you think I should do first?
