Sierra 150 Gr RN

Hey guys, I just started reloading, and so far have only been using sierra 168 gr HPBT. The rounds I shot before were either Federal GM 168 BTHP, or Lake City surplus in 7.62x51. Being a newbie at this, with less than 100 rounds through the press, I have a question. A friend gave me about a half a box of these 150 gr round nose bullets. Ive never shot any like it through my LR308. My friend had a bolt action, and he used them for game. My question is, would they be ok to fire through an auto loader, or should I just pay them forward to someone else?

They have a low BC, they like to go slow, and the book says the OAL is only 2.52. Any of you ever use this kind of bullet?

  They are a good short range bullet.  less than 200 yds.

  If you just want them to go bang, and shoot paper at 100 yds,,,,they will do great!LOL!!
