I never really thought I would live long enough to see this headline......

Just took one in Kansas. Our class had a very brief session on function and safety on both semi auto and revolver formats, then he read state statutes concerning legalities of carrying / brandishing a firearm. Learned the legal definitions of things like where you may legally carry or not, also learned definitions of manslaughter , murder, ect..... That lasted about 6 hours and was extremely dry. Then we talked about differing scenarios in which one may decide to pull/use their weapon for an hour before heading out to the range. Then we shot 5 rds at 3 yds, 10 rds at 7 yds, and 10 rds at 10 yds. 20/25 rds in the zone gets you qualified.

I've been looking at this Caldwell Bench. It looks heavy enough and is portable. I have yet to see one anywhere but on the net. Hey guys, I just started reloading, and so far have only been using sierra 168 gr HPBT. The rounds I shot before were either Federal GM 168 BTHP, or Lake City surplus in 7.62x51. Being a newbie at this, with less than 100 rounds through the press, I have a question. A friend gave me about a half a box of these 150 gr round nose bullets. Ive never shot any like it through my LR308. My friend had a bolt action, and he used them for game. My question is, would they be ok to fire through an auto loader, or should I just pay them forward to someone else? They have a low BC, they like to go slow, and the book says the OAL is only 2.52. Any of you ever use this kind of bullet?

Robocap, This gets old after a few mags, plus I wont even try to load a beta c mag that way.... that's just silly. For all who care, the .308 ncstar loader works well, I bought one and it does what its supposed to. For those of you with ar15s, the strip lula is the bomb. It works great.

I think you have created an awesome site to cover the platform. The boards aren't a jumbled up mess, and the members are all friendly, the more experienced are eager and willing to share their knowledge in their areas of expertise. Is my LR308 heavy? It sure as hell is! 13+ lbs. Would I want to trade for shorter barrel? No, I like it and plan to build another upper with a shorter barrel length.
