Guest LLArms
The only thing we are still R&Ding are the internal guts of the cooling system. Hope to have something to share in-regards to that portion at some point in the near future. We have a functioning prototype, but it needs some love in the "visuals" department; currently its a mess of unpolished aluminum casing and electrical wiring. My idea of a prototype electrical harness is lots of solder and tape. <laughs> Not pretty too look at, but lets me know if it runs.
blwn99x
what is the purpose of this rifle system and how it differs from others?
Guest LLArms
Its a target rifle. The idea originated as a hybrid rail gun. And no, we aren't talking about sci fi plasma weapons. There is a class of weapons in bench shooting called 'rail guns' - here is an example:They are nothing more than giant weights with a barrel and firing mechanism. They are used by people who prefer to perfect reloading ammunition and wanted to eliminate all human error from the math when testing new cartridge formulas. We wanted to create something that was a cross between keeping the weapon extremely stable, but still be mobile and not be a 100lb weight. It was also important that whatever we created still resemble a rifle at heart. We think we have found a good middle ground.
