Colfax Tactical
Hi AllAnother new guy here. I am really pleased to have found this site. I have been wanting to learn as much as possible about the AR10/308 AR style platforms.I am currently building a lot of 80% lowers for the AR15 community and would really love to offer 80%’ers in the 308 category. But prior to that, I need to learn a lot more about them. I hope it’s OK that I am here for that. I look forward to being a part of this group! Thanks in advance,Larry MyersColfax Tacticalhttp://www.colfaxtactical.com

SWshooter
Don't think you'll find much diff in the assembly of lowers between the 15 and the 10. The big diff is the fact that there is no mil spec on 308 AR stuff. There are magazine differences and barrel nut differences and mismatches between uppers and lowers. You have to pay a lot more attention to compatibility when building a 308 AR. You can't really call 'em AR-10's, That name is patented by Armalite, thats why DPMS uses LR-308 for theirs and knights armament uses SR for theirs. Welcome to the site, you came to the right place for info.
Colfax Tactical
Thanks SWshooter! In a few words, you just cleared up a bunch for me! I have been trying to figure out the LR and SR thing.Do you happen to know if there are any CAD (or otherwise) drawings of the LR-308 lowers? Perhaps on line somewhere? Thanks again,Larry
SWshooter
I'm pretty sure there are but don't ask me where. Semi-finished receivers are way out of my league.
