shibiwan
Got some info after asking them some questions about their spotting scopes. Figured I'd share. Good Afternoon, Thank you for your time and interest in Vortex Optics! Vortex is one of the few U.S. owned and operated optics companies. All design, engineering, testing/evaluation, service work, and warranty repairs are done right here in Middleton, WI. Depending on which product you are looking at will determine their country of origin. Specifically, the spotters scope are now all going to have a Chinese country of origin. We discontinued the Viper lineup because there wasn’t a huge difference between the HD and just the normal Viper. The differences are going to be found in the glass and the coatings. You would most likely start to see a difference when you get past 40x, it’s just going to be a little brighter/clearer with the HD Viper. Please let me know if there is anything else I can help you with. Unfortunate IMO... thought that the Viper spotters were made in the Philippines like their riflescopes.
