GSPKurt
I have a LR308 (24") inbound. I want to add a foregrip and light but it has a free-float handguard. Would you recommend adding pic rail sections to the existing guard or putting on a quad rail?
survivalshop
Adding rails would be less expensive , but may have some challenges with some hand guards.I'm also not sure how a bolted /screwed rail would hold up with a forgrip . Others here will have to attest to that. I do run a bi pod off a bolted/screwed rail & have had no problems with it .You will more than likely have a limited choice of quad railed hand guards with the newer DPMS uppers. SWshooter
If it's the standard DPMS two piece, you would be better off with a new 3 piece unit. The DPMS will get out of alignment if you have to remove it for any reason.
GSPKurt
Sorry for the delay in responding. Its an aluminum free-float hand guard.
SWshooter
Like I said, if it's the standard DPMS two-piece float tube you will get a lot better service with any three piece unit.
