  1. lol.. thanks..see that hole down at the bottom of the pic ?.. we filled that with a machine.. We are about 95% AR parts (small parts).. 1 1/4 capacity Swiss Type CNC.. All machined components you see on our website are made in house (with the exception of a couple items like the Gas Block).. Our most recent release is the AR-15/308 Stainless Rifle Dress Up Kit.. It consists of: Stainless Extended TDP's, SS Mag Catch w/Nickel Plated Button (Buttons still at the Plater) , Stainless Forward Assist, SS Push Button Safety, and SS Anti-walk Trigger/Hammer Pins.. Cant take a pic till the Nickel Mag Release Buttons get back from Plating
  2. im told that NiB has no build up like normal plating...it absorbs into the metal so u do not have to allow for coating like u do wth Moly...
  3. ill have some AR-15 cam pins bac frm the coating service (Moly) in about 2 weeks...sooner i hope...by then the DPMS 308 cam pins should b bac frm the heat treater and on there way to the coating service...
  4. we use TiN on our carbide inserts and i had a distributor ask me if i could have some AR-15 firing pins TiN coated for an 7.62 x 39 application...so yes i am interested in finding a source for TiN coating...im sending a batch of AR-15 cam pins for Moly wth a coating service i found here in southern calif...
  5. i called them just now..they dont do Moly and the price per piece for nickel boron is almost as much as we bid the job for...ive googled companys locally that might b able to do the Moly and only found one and mailed them a sample so i im still searching till i find a reliable coating service...theres tons of manufactures making AR-15 cam pins but there not gunna say where and i dont blame them...
  6. i have a local AR distributor (i met him at the gun show) asking me to manufacture some DPMS pattern 308 cam pins(4140 steel, hardened to spec) and i want to b sure i can get the Moly coating(dry lube) done before i take the job...anybody kno where i can get Moly or Nickel Boron done for these parts that wont break the bank ?
  7. 1) What model? (LAR-8 predator) 2) What dealer? (calarms) 3) When did you order? (feb 25, 2012) 4) When did you receive it? (dec 24 2012) bought the lower 1/2 here in calif (waited bout 3 months)...ordered upper 1/2 frm RB Precicion...thats how i stumbled on this site...after a few months i saw that people were getting pissed...after 6 months i was getting pissed... numerous emails wth RB...i thought they were lying to me...they weren't...sure glad i waited it out cuz its my most accurate hunting rifle except for my RRA AR-15...i could have bought the complete rifle locally at the time for $1750...i thought that was a bit pricey at the time because after Giesselle trigger, scope and other goodies it was a little more than i wanted to spend...lower 1/2 and upper together was about $1300...and what a bargain this rifle is...im sure glad i waited... now ?...maybe 2 yrs...i put a $100 deposit on an 308 Predator upper bout 2 months ago...hang in there and dont lose ur place in line...if somebody has one in stock, buy it!
  8. i first made the extended take down pins as a custom application in my AR-15 about 5 or six years ago ago because one rifle needed an over size takedown pin to take the slop out of the receivers and my other AR-15 needed an undersize takedown pin because it was so tight i couldnt pull it out wthout using a tool...i can see where the extended pin sticking out might b a concern but after many years in the field and dozens and dozens of kiyotes i can assure u that the extended takedown pin has never snagged or interfered wth the function of the rifle...as far as the 308 extended takedown pins go...thats a custom part right there...somebody else in the country might be making them but there gunna b pretty rare...since im the manufacture(me and my programer lease a machine) and i wrk full time i really would like to sell them in bulk and let the local gun stores and gun shows put them on display and sell them...if anybody might be interested in these pins or other turned or milled parts heres my email...dcannon003@socal.rr.com...right now our machine capacity is 5/8 round...
  9. dropped the rifle off at Addax so they can adjust the trigger...the malfunction is just as u described...they knew exactly what u were talking about...they couldnt test fire the rifle 10 months ago when they installed the trigger cause i didnt have the upper yet...yes it took 10 months to get the upper...RRA specs say the predator rifle weighs 8 1/2 lbs...it seems alot heaver than that...but i like a heavy rifle...i shoot better under hunting conditions...i was already looking at 308 standard operator or something just a little bit lighter...holy poop...they weigh over 10 lbs...and this time it will probably take two yrs to get it !!!..lol
  10. Barnes Vor Tx 168 gr wrked the best...Federal Barnes X 165 Gr was a close 2nd...1-10 twist...it would cycle a live round into the chamber then the trigger was locked like the bolt didnt close all the way..(burrs in the chamber ?)..i would pull the bolt bac and it would eject...trigger is Hi Speed National match trigger, match rifle...im gunna read up on the trigger first thing in the morn...i had Addax tactical install the trigger...im gunna guess they didnt monkey around wth it to much...im gunna stick wth the FAL mag for now...i had to insert a block of wood into the mag to make it calif legal...im lucky i got one !...lol...i will get some Fed Gold Match 168 Gr...im gunna shoot at 200 yds tomorrow after i read up on trigger...pretty hard to live wth double tap and a locked bolt though...
  11. k...here goes...just walked in the door frm the range...could only shoot at a hundred yrds today...must use lead free ammo in central calif for hunting...Barnes vor tx 168 gr shot a little over 1 inch group..Federal Barnes X 165 gr also shot well...E tip 150 gr did not...Remington core loc 150 gr wrks ok...the cheapy stuff (UMC and amer eagle 150 gr FMJ didnt but doesnt matter anyway)...Fusion 150 Gr so so...today it would jam wth a live round in the chamber and the bolt closed...and it would double tap......the rest of this i wrote ysterdy .....and edited a little.... i received my upper mon dec 24 and had everything ready to go that day and shot it at the range...rifle has geissele match trigger wth 2 1/2 lbs pull,RRA solid scope mount and weaver gland slam scope torqued to spec...used caldwell front and rear sand bag...wont b using low grade ammo anymore...the spent brass has numerous dents, dings...DSA mag is also scratching the brass...there are brass chips on the cleaning patch...i do have an old FAL mag that doesnt scratch as much...can anybody give me any feed bac on the problems i have described ?...i was using a screen to catch the brass so thats not the problem...thanks..
  12. does anybody kno who is the Top name in accurizing for the RRA LAR 308 predator rifle ?
  13. Im in the Los Angeles area...sure would like to get ahold of the guy selling FAL P "10/ 20" mags...2 1/2 hr drive to San Diego gun show frm LA...i will contact Cross Roads of the West and see if they can put me in touch wth the vendor selling the mags...Thanx...
  14. i called Rock River 1st...out of stock...bac ordered...and there 10 rnd mag is $55...kept calling around and was pointed to DSA...who makes match FAL rifles...they have cal legal 10 rnd mags for $25...my ten day for my RRA lower half is up next wkend...took 3 months frm Cal Arms...just got my Giesselle adjustable Match trigger frm Midway...its been 3 months since i ordered my RRA 308 predator upper frm RB precision...no telling how much longer it will take to get my upper...anybody want to comment on how long they think it will take to get it ?
  15. clarification: how dumb of me...i live in calif and i heard about some 20 rnd P mags that r modified wth a spacer to only hold 10 rnds making them cal legal...hence "10/20"...but they dont make them for my LAR-8...but if u dont live in cali u wouldnt need 10/20 mags...i just purchased two 10 rnd mags frm DSA but i like the look of the 20 rounder so im gunna contact Rifle Gear and see if they might b able to do this mod...but if anybody outside calif can modify an FAL 308 20 rnd mag to hold ten rnds making it calif legal i would b very interested...thanks... dcannon003@socal.rr.com
  16. is anybody out there manufacturing a FAL 10/20 308 mag ?...thanks...dave...818 671 9009
  17. Newby alert !...does anybody kno which manufacturers lower recievers will fit Rock River 308 uppers and since i live in the Los Angeles area (i belong in texas, oh well) i will also need that rifle to accept a bullit button...this is a hog huntin rifle...i can buy the rifle locally but the stores r gouging bad for the LAR-8 Predator 308...
