Bob has gotten the "Bob sled" design finalised and I've tested and it works flawlessly. Just shoot him an email to order, he doesn't have them out to his distributer's yet. Tell him Erick from VT sent you.

Will do. Anyone else's chamber that long?
-
Just sent an email asking when it will be available.
-
Maybe. I did not see the fal pattern coming soon when I looked. Thanks ChaseFan9.

I'm ok with sacrificeing a mag. I've seen them for the small platform and dpms but nothing for RRA.
-
Looking to use longer than mag length with my reloads. Don't know why the pics are upsidedown, but the first is what I currently load to and the second is touching the lands. Both with 175 smk. If I try berger vld the oal would be even longer touching the lands.
-
Anybody know where I can get one?
-
I've only recently checked to see what it was because I was going to do similar testing with 175gr smk and was curious. My 168gr smk shoot quite well with that amount of jump and have even done ery well with hornady 110gr vmax with that jump. So having seating very close may not be as critical as I thought previously.
-
Dpete, Have you checked max oal in the chamber to see how much jump you have? I load to similar OAl in my RRA Lar-8. I'm jumping .105.
-
LostinVT where do you shoot? What kind of distances are available to you?

What else can cause my rifle to jump when fired?
hollywood replied to 1survivor1's topic in Rock River Arms LAR-8
Yes dpms spacer. Had to trim the retaining bolt to allow buffer to have full travel. Sent my upper to Edward Arthur Brown company. They are in the same town as JP enterprise and are reccomended installers by JP. They have both of the both Cooley and the eliminator. -

I have the rra lar-8 varmint. At 200 with my loads it would jump almost a full sheet of plywood threw the scope. I made my own heavy buffer. Removed all weights and spacers and filled it with extra heavy tungsten powder, Tubbs flatwire spring and that helped some but the jp recoil eliminator put it over the top. It's the loudest thing around but as gentle as a .223 in my opinion. Now all I need to do to watch the shots appear on target is not blink. I've also shot the jp Cooley on the same rifle with the same hand loads and it is a close second to the recoil eliminator. -
I asked how custom I can make it. They said, try us. They will build it they way you want.

Got a chance to het out and give a test 80deg and %85 humidity. Worked very well. I don't have any explanation for the flyer beside dumba** on the trigger.

130deg! whew my issue starts on sunny 80deg.id be junk at that temp. dont see those type of temps up north, used to when i lived in VA. the tennis/hockey tape reminded me of the Mcnett tape i have. just removed the stock and cheek piece and giving it a wrap to see how it will work.

if it is like adding a pillow and it gets me to that relaxed of a state its worth all the money. seems to take for ever to calm myself to start getting good groups.
-
I have tried hockeytape before on a differenrt rifle and ended up with Some of the tape and adhesive sticking to my cheek. was like trying tobget roofing tar off your hands not fun. has any one used one of the goda grip products. thedescription sounds like youre adding a pillow to rest your head on

lot of diy pistol stippiling tutorials on the web. i dosent look to difficult. just dont want to be putting my face on what looks to be sand paper of varying grits. paint idea might be a little safer.
-
Stippled? Little dots. Lots of them. I love google. Saw pics of it in grip areas. Looks aggressive for putting your face on.

Back to google I go.
