  1. SportsmansGuide has the 175 gr FGMM ammo but its not 308, its 7.62 at $1/round Any know where I can get some 308 175 gr FGMM at a good price???
  2. I am curious to see what magazine carriers/pouches you guys use for carrying single or multiple 20 round PMAG 308 mags??? Either carriers/pouches with MOLLE attachment or stand alone units
  3. Interesting. I may have to try some rounds of the DAG to see how it fairs in my 308B. BTW, what software did you use to do the group calculations?? PC or Smartphone based??
  4. agreed, the barrel likes a heavier bullet, like the 168. By default, the surplus will shoot worse groups. I am wondering what specific surplus 7.62 ammo you used in your gun, that you had success with??
  5. It depends on the models..... The LR 308 and LR 308B are typically a 308 barrel, since they assume you are using these for accuracy
  6. Wash, I am curious...... did you have a "full" SASS upper with all the same "stuff" as DPMS?? or just the barrel? did your lower have the PRS stock? your new build, besides the barrel, what is different from the SASS upper that also affected weight? whats the length and contour of the Rainer barrel?? Tnx
  7. So what did you NOT like about the SASS barrel???
  8. Herk, I assume you built an upper, or purchased one from FA??? What can you tell me about its break in and final accuracy??
  9. This is an old thread and I assume things have changed...so.. I am interested in building another upper. Would like to understand what is the best "value" for an accurate barrel?? Specifically, I want to end up with an 18 in barrel, although a 20 in will work. My understanding was that DPMS SASS barrels were very accurate, and now JSE has them at a great price. I also spoke to a gunsmith that suggested the 20 in Lilja barrels. More expensive but Lilja is known for their benchrest barrels. I currently have the DPMS 308B barrel upper which is a 308 barrel. I would want a barrel such that I could shoot both surplus 7.62 as well as factory 308. Soooo. what are your suggestions based on experience??
  10. Need to figure out if I can use /mount flip up sights AND a scope on the upper that I have on the LR 308B, otherwise I will build another upper
  11. The DPMS 7.62 SASS barrel is identified as having a mid length gas tube, but no dimensions are given http://www.dpmsinc.com/store/products/?prod=4865&cat=1763
  12. I am curious to hear what experiences folks have had using 7.62 ammo, surplus or commercial, in a DPMS 308 marked barrel??? DPMS says not to do that due to the tight chamber they cut. Any real life experience would be appreciated.
  13. My current upper is this one except, as I mentioned, that the gas block is low now and a DPMS rifle length FF tube is over it. Has anyone successfully mounted a scope AND a set of flip up sights, using the PRS stock???
  14. Looking at that PEPR mount, if it was mounted on the HIGH DPMS upper, I cannot see how a set of flip up sights would work with it???? Washguy, do you have the HIGH DPMS upper???
