  1. I respectfully request that you unlock my post in the for sale area. Just because powerman couldn't put his crack pipe down(got'er done post) long enought to know he sold me this RRA 308 bolt carrier at 1/2 the price of the current market value, does not give anyone the right to say that I am price gouging. (If someone posted that they wanted to buy a RRA 308 carrier, and I replied that I had the only one in the world left and if they ever wanted to put their rifle to gather they would have to buy mine, and I want more than current market value) that would be gouging. Can you buy an AR for $700? thats what they were 2 months ago, but you can't buy one now for that. When you fill up with gas, does the station charge you what they paid 2weeks ago for gas? NO, they charge what the current market value is. I saw a DPMS 308 BCG sell for $910 3 weeks ago, did the seller price gouge this? NO, someone paid this much by his own free will. We all know that my RRA carrier is priced at current market value, in 2 months from now if the value of parts change, so will the price of my carrie to match the rest of the parts. This part is offered for sale and no one is forced to buy it from me, but if this is the only part someone needs to complete there rifle, they may be happy to pay this price so they can finally finish there build before the BIG BAN. So if the only rule I broke is that I didn't include a pic, unlock my post and I'll get a pic up
  2. I have a new 308 Rock River Arms striped bolt carrier. No gas key or bolt assem. These don't come up for sale very often. $350 USPS MO $363 PP shipped
  3. I have a new 20"DPMS 243 barrel and the gas port is .082" or drill # 45. I have not fired this yet to know if works but thats the factory size. When you pull the gas block off, check the "smoke" ring aroung the port to be sure the hole in the gas block lines up with the port in the barrel
  4. Just because the barrel was on someone else's DPMS receiver don't mean its a DPMS barrel
  5. Can you show a pic of the markings on the barrel? It looks like that barrel is the Armalite lenght. DPMS barrels are 3/16" shorter from the barrel ext shoulder to the gas block shoulder (than an AR15 and Armalite) so they can use the AR15 gas tubs. Armalite uses the standard AR15 lenght from the barrel ext shoulder to the gas block shoulder, but that means you have to use a longer gas tube. You could just order an Armalite gas tube.
  6. The LR308 uses the same gas tube as the AR15 The AR10 uses a longer gas tube
  7. The Bushmaster 308 that was made by RRA uses the FAL mags, and I think RRA may still makes a lower that uses them as well. I heard that they were not a very good functioning combo when they first came out. I don't know what the big deal is all about with 20 or 30 rd mags in a 308, I use my 10 rd mag more then my 20 rds. I can't even remember the last big game animal that took more than 1 shot to put it down with a rifle.
  8. Be sure to use an Armalite gas tube. I think there is 3/16" difference in the Armalite and DPMS.(?)
  9. Be careful with what you use togather. You could have BCG slaming into the treaded area of your receiver if the tube is to long for the buffer
  10. Gas port size on a 308 20" rifle length is .0935" or a # 42 drill So I would (guess) that a 22" may be slightly smaller, something like.086 or # 44 drill 5/64 is .0781 which I think would be too small, and 3/32 is .0938 which would be the closesed fractional size drill. But if you drill the port out, you may be stuck to using an adjustable gas block, so rule out everything else first
  11. Was this gun shooting fine, then all the sudden it started the malfuctions?
  12. Oil the bolt, and carrier rails to the point of runoff. Check your empty cases for any sign of damage. How hard did the action open with the case in the chamber? My barrel is 25" with rifle lenght gas system, and i think my port size is #51 drill (I'm not at home to check my info, could tell you for sure on Mon.) I'm using 55gr nosler partitions but it was to cloudy for my crono to read the day I was shoting it, so I'm not sure about the fps. I had a little problem with my ammo, was trying to use a heavier crimp for this auto, and had a few rds with slight neck crush, which caused them not to chamber, my lee factory crimp die came today.
  13. The .308 mags work fine, both pmags and the DPMS 10rd I have. I built a 22-250 on the 308 reciever, just finished it about a month ago, and have only sighted it in at 100 and have not had time to shoot it any more. I'm not sure, but isn't a 1-8 twist kind of fast for this round? My bolt gun is a 1-14, and the Rem 700 barrel I used for this is a 1-12 http://i702.photobucket.com/albums/ww26/Tracycoy/IMG_3017.jpg http://i702.photobucket.com/albums/ww26/Tracycoy/IMG_3016.jpg If you have a photo server, you can copy the direct link then paste in your message area. ( you need to save pics on your photo server first)
  14. Email sent on complete package
  15. I'm in the process of finding the parts to build a 300 WSM. Ordered a JP bolt, but it is backordered so I am on hold for now. I will machine the bolt to fit the rim, then fit the bolt to the barrel extention, then fit the ext to the barrel. The barrel is a new Rem 700 take off, so the chamber is already done, I just have to set the headspace when I fit the ext to the barrel. I'll post more when I'm working on it
