matt....i don't feel so lonely now :) I'm waiting to see if my barrel shows up this week. had woody's "guarantee" that it would be shipped last friday. on the positive side, paperwork for my suppressor transfer is supposed to come within the next couple of weeks. i can then start my paperwork to ATF. mark

washguy, thanks for the info.....no, i didn't use level bubbles/torque wrench.....that is now on my list of to do, along with 168 gr Federal to try. will get to reloading shortly. mark

yeah, I was hoping it's just the lightweight bullets. glass is Leupold VX-3....and yes, I was increasing magnification at the longer distance.

Jgun, thanks for the info, and glad your experience was better than mine so far. Woody was very disparaging of wildcat rounds, although I don't consider .243 to be wildcat. That being said, I AM looking forward to receiving my LW barrel, assembly, and shooting.

JGUN....curious as to where you got your LW barrel in two weeks. Have had a .243 barrel on order for over 6 mos from LW. Keep being told it's going to ship and when press, keep getting that promise pushed out further. Latest was a comouter crash that lost all records. and now will not get the fluting that I originally ordered because they already turned the barrel......grrr. MarkB

Hi Guys, Wanted to get your thoughts: using Hornady Superformance SST, Custom SST, and Superformance GMX 150gr ammo, I can get about .5" MOA at 100 yds, but when shoot at 200/200+ I am all over the place. Shooting AR308 with 24" Ranier SS UltraMatch 1:10, 6 groove. My thought is that I probably need to be shooting 168gr+ and will try that next, but wanted to get your thoughts? Thanks, Mark

Hi All, I'm trying to determine if I can meet the IN DNR requirements with my AR308. IN DNR says rifle cartridge length nte 1.8" and bullet of .357 or larger. Wondering if anyone has a suggestion for a bullet in the 150-250 wt range that would still allow me to utilize a shortened .308 cartridge and still have the overall length to use my 308 lower/mags (I can get a barrel for .450/.458/.50). Thanks!

Hi All, I would like to ask your opinion on my planned optic for my AR .243 build (MEGA MA-TEN monolithic), goal of shooting out to 500-600 yds. I have a Leupold VX-III 6.5-20x40 Long Range scope that I want to center mount. Will this be a good match? My plan is to also mount a Aimpoint angled off to left side for shorter distances. Does anyone have recommendations for scope mounts? I was considering LaRue Tactical SPR-S Mount LT158 and something like the LaRue Micro T-1 Angled QD Mount, LT724 if I can find an angle mount for the Aimpoint PRO. Thanks!!

yes, rifle length. I am also curious as to why you say DPMS lower parts kit will not work. I am getting parts thru Dave (group MA-TEN buy) and this was part of his recommendation.

Hi All, I'd like to ask for some Bolt Carrier info. My build is a MA-TEN monolithic upper/lower with Lothar Walther barrel/bolt. I am waiting on an Armalite BCG, but would like to know if there are other bolt carriers that would be compatible to Armalite. Thanks, MarkB

Hi All, Once again asking for a little input. I am getting ready to order my .243 barrel and barrel mfg. asked me for gas tube length so they can build barrel. Am getting MA-TEN monolithic and either 20 or 22" barrel. Armalite BCG. JP low profile .936 gas block. Other than "rifle-length Armalite", is there any measurement I would need to supply? Do you have recommendation for bolt/BCG? Want to get ni b if possible. I think I will eventually end up with a Lothar Walther barrel, but will probably start with something like Hart or Krieger.

TY. Looking for best accuracy, so was considering either 20" or 24" fluted ss barrel. Wt not a real concern to me. Working w local gunsmith that has built a pretty fair number of .308's. M
