Id have to agree here. 2A sales is the only gun shop in my area worth a damn. Ive tried pretty much everyone in my area and no one has given me the time or respect they have. They have a great selection and are very knowledgeable and polite.

Ban, ban, ban.. im so sick of this crap. Its an all out assault on they we live our lives. Its all about control. Everyday either the government or another company is banning something related to firearms. We dont like your culture or how you live so were gonna make it as difficult as we can for you.

It sucks for those of us in MD. Im proud of Beretta not giving into the idiots into Annapolis. They wrote a special exemption for gun makers so they could continue to produce here in the state and ship out to other states (MD loves to take as much money as possible) but Beretta said if our employees cant buy our products what are we doing here? 400 new jobs and 300 old jobs gone to another state. Nice job MD government. Three amazing companies not to mention countless others have either left or plan on leaving this state. My plan is to get out ASAP, probably to PA or North Carolina. This state is lost and it would take a huge culture change for us to get it back. I love my state but our government is god awful.

Well I originally wanted to get a rifle length gas system but I could not find one for a 18" barrel. I was really hoping to get the fulton 18.5" rifle length but I could not find one anywhere. Ive read rifle length sysyems are by far the most reliable because they give the most amount of burn time. But if Rainier makes them im sure they're good. I dont really care much about the block being exposed but I do want the gas tube to be covered. I want this rifle to be tough and reliable. So I did my best to go with companies and parts that will hold up well. I have no plans on using steel case but I do want to make sure I can shoot a variety of ammo. No mall ninja here.

Its a Rainier Arms Select 308 18" with a mid length gas system. Wilson Combat gas block, DPMS bolt, DPMS gas tube.

Well thats a good sign then because the 308 xtra heavy I have is 11 oz. So I guess ill be good to go with the military surplus etc..

I bought a Xtra Heavy Buffer from Clint at heavybuffer.com for my current build. Im almost done with the build now and im starting to look at ammo. Will I be able to use whatever I want or will lighter loads lead to FTF or other problems? Thanks.

Theyre both really nice handguards but im already over 2 grand deep into this project and the PRI is 500 with the top rail (which is a must in my opinion). Im assuming the Midwest is also a little bit lighter which is nice. Maybe ill use the PRI on another project.

To be honest I really want the PRI Gen 3 handguard but its much more expensive. So my 2nd pic is the MI Keymod. The Apex handguard is also nice.

Has anyone used a Midwest Industries Keymod or SS handguard with their Maten or DPMS High? Im trying to get an idea of how well they match up. Any pics or info would be awesome. Thanks!
