Hello there Mr or Mrs Blue 109 and 98Z5v. Its a A2 full rifle spring and a 5.5oz carbine buffer which is the same weight as a full lenght riffle buffer and it works flawlessly. The rifle buffer was causing a short stroke, due to the bolt being longer than a 5.56 bolt. So to correct this problem I had to use a carbine buffer and make it weight 5.5oz and the weight is the same spring does the job and fixed. The one that came with my LR was 3.8oz carbine so to light to run in a riffle set up. so I have the parts here to make it work and all the knowldge from this formn. And yes I can rapid fire a 20 round mag all day(I'll make a video next time I go shooting). And if you dont believe me simply try it. I understand it maybe against the beliefs you may hold. It is the science that works.

It sarted off as a basic lr308 from silver bullet gun works dpms carbine gas system: upper/lower/barrel/bcg/hammer and that is were it stops! Installed: Magpul prs stock with red color fill/punisher skull-5.5oz carbine buffer-full lenght A2 tube and spring-ergo rear grip-slim contour rail-low pro gas block-extended charging handle and ext take downs- .154"anti walk pins with e-clips-armspec tcb-FN trigger and springs-stainless steel firing pin-phase 5 EBRv2 bad lever/new holdback screw-magpul rail sling apdt with red color fill-magpul mbus gen 2 flip ups with red color fill-Harris bi pod and rail apdt-TDMB2 stainless steel muzzle break-has decal on right side "this gun fucks poop up" red color fill on lower It is a 7.62x51 AND I LOVE THESE RIFLES! I run a phase 5 EBRV2 308 on my lr308 and love it. And I wear a xl glove and 10 years in navy and 6 in NavSpecWar and love these bad levers

When I put in my phase 5 bad lever the bho was breaking as I was taking it out. I made my own. If you would like to hear...I went to lowes got a solid steel pin kit its in a pack( and i dont remember that name of it ) fit the hole(its #6) use a marking device mark both side of the steel pin and use a cutting device and cut the middle of the marks cut it smooth then use a 1/4 length 6/32 steel allen head plug from a hardware speciality store and done. That is what I used on my lr308 it works for me. Some others may not like it but it works for me. Any questions pm me...ebrv2 308 is what I have on mine

Ok. Sorry about the miss clarity here. codyusaf04 What I was getting at is if you run a magpul prs stock, your gas system wont matter. The problem you going to run into is the bolt will not go all the way back due to .308 bolt is bigger than that of a 5.56 bolt. To clear the short stroke issue is to run a carbine 5.5oz buffer which is the same weight as a full lenght rifle buffer 5.5oz for the 5.56. Your gas system = lenght of barrel/gas tube which will have no effect on stock choice you need to match buffer and spring. And you can't use a .308 gas tube on a 5.56 due to the hole is smaller in a .308 tube. Sorry for the extra detail in all of this.
