  1. Here's some better pics of targets
  2. So here's the update on reloading. I picked up a used rock chucker for 50 bucks . a used tumbler for 10 bucks. Used rcbs uniflow powder measure for 50 bucks. The. Lee case trimmer. and I already have a good digital scale and calipers . I decided to reload .223 before I try .308 . so I loaded 20 trial rounds and only shot 10. They told me what I needed to know. I shot three strings of 10 rounds. With cleaning and cooldown before each string of 10 . PMC first then my reloads then PMC.
  3. The first time I ever heard of scope eye was when I was hunting deer during shotgun season when I was 12 with my dad headed to the deer stand we saw a guy stomping out of the woods with blood dripping from his eye. Let's just say I refrained from putting a scope on my 12 gauge for many years. I let the 22 beat me in the eye a few times and topped off my lesson with little pain. Every now and then I get a subtle reminder.when that happens I think back on that guy stomping out of the woods with blood dripping from his eye.
  4. Blue you're supposed to scroll down not up. I thought that was common knowledge. Kinda like pulling a trigger not pushing it.
  5. Thanx guys. I was considering the Lee case trimmer. My local reloader was trying to sell me a rcbs.the Lee case trimmer looks effective. Plenty of good info. Thanx shibi
  6. I tried some in my Lr-308 with the Mega Arms 18" 1:10 twist. The accuracy was about the same as PMC 147 gr. But then again my barrel doesn't like anything under 168 gr.
  7. I am curretly shopping for reloading equipment. I've been getting advice from the local reloader. I already purchased an original rcbs rock chucker on eBay for 80.00. I figured it was a good place to start. I already have a rock tumbler that will get me by now. Advice needed on the rest of the equipment. I was thinking mainly rcbs. And a Lee crimp die. Any advice?
  8. I'm not trying to kick a downed horse but I picked up dpms lower from surplus ammo for 250 and a dpms a3 assrmbled upper from midway on sale for 147. Finish matches well. Fit is a little sloppy. Wedge tightened it right up.total spent was 400 minus lower parts
  9. Update. After about 300 rounds on scope the variable power completely quit working. I'm not very impressed with the accuracy I was getting between switching yardages. I always had to add or take off extra clicks. I'm returning the scope to manufacturer. When the replacement arrives I'll put it on an ar-15 and check it. Looks like I'm in the market for new optics. Any suggestions? I'm looking for a good hunting scope.
  10. Very interesting. I keep seeing proprietary with PSA
  11. That's a nice looking receiver set . How do the two pin together?
  12. You have to try the bearded clam. You just gotta keep the beard out of the way.
  13. If everything runs as it should you shouldn't need the fa anyways
  14. I'm waiting for someone who bought one to show up here trying to solve some issues with their PSA. We already know about the forward assist being in the wrong location. I wouldn't wanna buy one for a while. Its like anything else you gotta give em time to work the bugs out
