Howdy boys.....still kickin' down here in DeWitt county....just not quite as high ! Thought I'd check in to see what's been goin' on and looks like quite a lot. I been ringin' a little steel but not as much as I like to. I done developed a little case o' spinal stenosis.....up around the C-3 & C-4....and done lost feelin' in my hands and when I do feel, it hurts like hell....anyway, I 'posed to have surgery on the 22nd of this month and then maybe after another month, I can get behind my gun agin.....daummm ! In the mean time, here's a pitcher o' my sweetie.... HC

@ 392heminut..........LOL, yeah......thing is an EOT installed backwards would probably work better than the Sightmark........I think I "jiggled" the guts out of it just shooting with it. I have not dropped it or banged it around. The sight display has like 3 or 4 "ghost" on any display......sumpin's gotta be loose. HC

Just swapped out the 10.5" 5.56 for a 10.5" 300 blk from Brownell's. Luv it !! I know, the safety is on "fire"......I have been "rebuked severly". The mag is MT as well as the chamber......but still, shame on me. The added features to the Diamondback AR pistol: Sig Tac pistol brace, Magpul poly BUIS, Magpul AFG, AAC 51T compensator, AAC 7.62-SDN6 can, Gieselle SDG3 trigger, KAK pistol buffer tube, Slash's XH buffer (8.5 oz). The Sightmark reflex sight is "junk", I'm waiting for the PA Red Dot to swap it out, also waiting for a B.A.D. lever. The gun shoots like a dream. Shooting supers or subs.......runs like a Singer sewing machine. The Gieselle trigger is the best trigger I've ever owned !! I'll try to post a short video here ASAP. Thanks, HC

DPMS LR308 DMR PROJECT GUN
HOTCOFFEE replied to HOTCOFFEE's topic in DPMS LR-308 | Bushmaster 308 Pictures
Thanks Adam......The scope is really outstanding ! I have two of them, the other is mounted on my Sav 110 FCP (.308). The one on the LR308 has (as of today) 1600 rounds fired underneath it and the one on Sav has 1900 rounds. Both of them trouble free. As I mentioned in the OP, they are FFP w/mil/mil, side paralax, locking turrets w/return to zero and the AD QA mounts have been rock solid as well. The LR started life as a "Sportical" and has slowly evolved into what you see now with accuracy improving each step of the way. Once I got rid of that funky springloaded PIA POS hand guard and"boat anchor gas block" and bedded the barrel to the receiver with Blue Loctite and installed the 15" free float hand guard........well, life got a lot better......ha,ha. Then I changed out the carbine buffer for a rifle buffer and added the PRS stock......had a few problems with FTE when shooting with can, then I discoverd Slash's Heavy Buffer (XH10) + spring.......yes, recoil is actually pleasant, no punch.....just pushes straight back. I shot 200 rounds thru it today and enjoyed every trigger pull.........I am thinking about getting GG&G's new HD bipod that will lock forward at 45°. The bipod I have now works fine from the prone but, sometime I can't get it low enough on the bench. As you can see.......I really like my LR and with a few more refinements I hope to post some outstanding target photos. HC -

CMMG MK3 LR308 UPPER Receiver
HOTCOFFEE replied to HOTCOFFEE's topic in DPMS LR-308 General, Technical Discussion
Yep.......that's the one I have, unfortunately. I do not want a complete upper. All I need is the "stripped" upper receiver. If the CMMG MK3 is not compatible with BCG and charging handle I already have, then I will regroup and go to plan B......... HC -
Howdy boyz............has anyone here tried the CMMG MK3 LR308 upper receiver ? I have been trying to get a 15" free float hand guard for my DPMS LR308 and it has become a PITA due to DPMS's vast array of multiple upper receiver heights.... I thought I had found the FF hand guard that would fit my upper but, alas, this was not to be (as you can see in the photo). Well, since I really like the CMMG MK3 hand guard, especially with the "keyhole" feature for added pic rails, I'm thinking about getting the CMMG MK3 LR308 upper receiver and be done with it. I called CMMG tech service and they have been really good to deal with so far. They will be changing their website to reflect the added "will not fit" DPMS upper and will let me return the hand guard for a refund. I ask them specifically if the MK3 hand guard will properly fit their MK3 upper receiver and they said it would. I told them that I would consider buying the MK3 upper if, my DPMS BCG, BCM Gunfigther 7.62 charging handle and DPMS barrel could be used with it............waiting on a reply. Any thoughts, comments, suggestions will be greatly appreciated...... Thanks, HC

.308 buffer question--Need help
HOTCOFFEE replied to codyusaf04's topic in DPMS LR-308 General, Technical Discussion
Just an update.......I received my new AR10R-XH buffer and spring from Heavy Buffers and installed it in my PRS stock on the LR308......WOW !! What an improvement ! The problem with FTC with the suppressor is no longer an issue and the felt recoil with and without the suppressor is an added "big grin"......hah, hah !! Thanks for the link and all the info.......great forum. I'll post the link again just in case somebody else may be interested or is having similar problems. Thanks again, HC LINK: http://heavybuffers.com/ar10rifle.html -
Howdy boyz......just found this Texas bunch. I logged in the intro section a few days ago. Hmmmm...looks like the post have been a little slow here. From Feb to July.....hope you boyz is still shootin'. Anyway, I hang my hat here is DeWitt county, 'bout 1/2 way 'tween Cuero and Goliad. Got 'bout thutty nine acres and can shoot out to 500 yds and I got a few silhouettes setup here and there.....I'm waitin' on a couple of Poppers from JC steel, oughta be here next week or so. I got plenty coyotes to plink away at most every nite and an occasional hawg wanders in to the feed tub but, I don't shoot 'em unless I got somebody wants one. My neighbor across the road has got hawgs everywhere and he furnishes the ammo to get rid of 'em.......cool !! Got deer too.....and the turkeys are startin' to come back after this long dry spell we've had. I never been to a shootin' range.....but I would like to make it out to the high desert, Texas, New Mexico, Arizona......to try my hand at longgggg range high angle steel targets. Have gun, will travel. HC

Thanks......got a chance to shoot 200 rounds thru it yesterday.....wow......the gun runs good....very good !! HC

Primary Arms 4-14x FFP vs. PFI evolution 3-12x FFP
HOTCOFFEE replied to blopp220's topic in Optics & Mounts, BUIS,Sights
I have two (2) PA 4-14 x 44 FFP. One mounted on Sav FCP10-SR and the other on LR308. Very satisfied with both and great service from the folks at Primary Arms in Pearland, Tx. HC
