  1. So just out of curiosity, how many of you have even served? Because it seems that its the people who have never actually done anything to protect our rights that want to cry the loudest when someone questions them. I never once said anything about who can own what or taking anyone's rights away. But i don't think any of you moaned and groaned when you had to take a test to get your drivers license. So what is wrong with a basic one time competency test or course to weed out the people that will shoot themselves or others because they are incompetent? Even by making that comment you are insinuating you know anything about me. If you didn't feel that way you wouldn't have said it. So for all intensive purposes I am just a 21 yr old kid who enlisted for 3 years and I know nothing about life. But the funny thing is, I'm actually asking for accountability in our system instead of a blind eye like it is now. I've said it before and Ill say it again since no one seems to get it: I don't want the government to tell me what I can purchase, own or shoot. But I DO think there should be some sort of system in place to help keep guns out of the hands of people that just shouldn't have them. Maybe not enforced by the government, maybe it should be something WE THE PEOPLE take into our own hands. I believe it is a right to be able to own a gun, I have many. But education and knowledge are more powerful than any caliber. an ps, you pay your taxes, good for you, so do I and everyone else I know. But mentioning that is like asking for an award for stuff you're supposed to do. I dont view sarcastic comments as intelligent or valid. I bet if you polled 25 Navy SEALs and 25 civilians with zero military experience with this question the results would be surprising. But what do I know, im just a 21 yr old kid with no life experience.
  2. Nevermind man, You just want to argue. Having rights just to have them means nothing, but I guess that's the 21st century American way.
  3. Oh boy where do I start lol. First off, I'm not trying to make any enemies here. I'm simply stating my opinion, which i believe I have that right seeing as how I fought for it. My point was this; there are a lot of civilians who go and buy all this tactical gear, surplus uniforms, and ARs and FNs and HKs and then they act like they're some sort of neighborhood hero or SEAL team member. Sorry, but I don't think military uniforms should be available to the public period(but that's a whole other argument haha). I know that every single branch has at least basic firearms training requirements and annual renewals as well as shooting for qualification. All I'm saying is that everyone should be required to go through training and annual re-certification to possess weapons. You cant just hop in a car and drive when you feel you're ready. You cant buy a motorcycle and just ride it when you want. those two specific examples are, I guess the closest to what I think we need. Ill die for this constitution and the rights it affords me. But I think we need to weed out the idiots that don't need to have a firearm, or license to drive. I mean, there is a state that gave a BLIND man a CPL. Seriously? whats he gonna do? spray and pray? So ill reiterate, There should be no limiting of what you can own or how many, but something should be required of you to show your competency. secondly, to the people complaining about vets or active military getting a pass on CPLs, is it right? no. But we live in a country where we give billions in foreign aid but cant even keep our own citizens and veterans off the street, so maybe that's just a small bit of karma coming back around. Like I said, its just my opinion, agree or disagree, that's all of your rights. Hope you guys all have a great day.
  4. Hey I'm not a fan of Leo period, but I didn't wanna hurt any feelings and leave anyone out lol
  5. I just find it funny that it's harder to get a silencer than the actual firearm lol. I can still kill people in loud mode lol. Shouldn't it be the other way around? I should have 20 silencers and 2 guns. Idk, guess I just look at it differently. But regardless, if you're military, a vet, Leo, etc you should be able to buy whatever the hell you want. I honestly think there should be more restrictions for civilians. Lol let the flaming begin
  6. Thank you sir! I've been a huge fan of the XD line. I've owned a Robar NP3'd XD-40 4" a XDM-40 4" and 2 XDS 45's. Just couldn't jump on the block band wagon, and these things are amazing! Totally, it just feels awkward with 1.5" rings.
  7. I spent about 4 hours online looking at cases. These dang 24" barrel ARs are a pain to find a case for lol. But I ended up choosing this one. Fits my rifle perfect and has two separate compartments for two rifles. Plus two hidden pockets secured by Velcro. Very nice case. I really like it. http://www.cheaperthandirt.com/product/16-PVC-RC46B-A
  8. Am I the only one who thought of other uses for this? Lol. "You say you're not turned on? FLIR determines that's a lie!" Lol
  9. Thanks for all the input guys! I'll probably just do a ambi charging handle first and see how that feels. Any recommendations for a different free float system that would compliment the magpul stock and grip? I want to ditch this fore end and get something that breathes a lil better and also has a rail on the bottom for bipod mounting. Here's my before and after haha.
  10. Thanks, but I'm a machinist and do all the milling work myself. Just kinda wondering if there was proven setups out there. It's not that I don't like the rear charging handle, it's just easy to rack the slide from the side when you've got a sight picture. Good to know there are people I can shoot with once I move. I wanna get back into ipsc and idpa too.
  11. Where in AZ? I'm moving back to Tucson this fall, I was stationed there and loved it
  12. Hola muchachos! Been lurking for quite some time and figured I'd go ahead and post something lol. Question: Does anyone make a side charging upper? Is it even possible? Does anyone have one? I feel like this would be perfect for a bench rifle such as the one I'm building. Started with a stock, "used" (previously owned, never fired) DPMS LR308 24", Magpul MIAD grip and PRS stock(both flat dark earth) on the way, UTG 8-12" bipod, and a UTG 3-9x40 TF2+ scope on a Burris P.E.P.R. mount. Before anyone comments on my air rifle scope lol it was thrown in by the shop I bought my rifle from because I also bought another Springfield XD-S 45 at the same time. Any recommendations for optics to reach out to 500 yds would be appreciated as well. And my name is Mike, I'm an Air Force Vet and I live in michigan. I also like flowers by surprise and long walks on the beach haha. That's all for now ;)
