  1. Good morning, I believe last time we spoke with Fulton they were using DPMS gas tubes, which wound up protruding about .750 into the chamber. The Armalite tube would protrude about an inch into the chamber, which is a more common practice. I can't speak for Fulton, but I'm guessing they made that change to better accommodate their existing gas port size and slightly reduce the possibility of overgassing the rifle. If you're experiencing excessive recoil then I'd suggest looking into swapping out for an Armalite gas tube on an existing build, but if you're not running into any problems with the shorter tube you should be fine. If you're worried about which gas tube to use on your rifle, I would suggest contacting Fulton directly. We build the barrels to their specifications, so they're probably your best point of reference on how all the pieces should fit together! -Josh
  2. Good news folks. A 16" Hybrid contour rifle length barrel is in the works for both the AR-15 (.223 Wylde) and .308 AR designs. It looks like we already have the contoured blanks for the AR-15, so they will likely be in supply first.
  3. Correct. These barrels are all a hybrid (lightweight/medium) contour. It's somewhat similar to our Hybrid AR-15 barrels, but sized up to accommodate the larger cartridge. It seems as though a 16" rifle length model should be in order. I'm going to send the feedback we have been receiving for that configuration to the boss tomorrow and see if we can get that added to the mix.
  4. We have a number of stock model .308 AR barrels in development, but we're always open to input regarding barrel selection. If enough requests are received for a particular configuration not currently in production, we would be more than happy to add that model to our product lineup. The below models are currently in development: Stainless Steel: 16" Mid-Length, .308 M118 LR, 1-10 Twist 16" Mid-Length, .308 M118 LR, 1-10 Twist, Nitrided 18" Mid-Length, .308 M118 LR, 1-10 Twist 18" Mid-Length, .308 M118 LR, 1-10 Twist, Nitrided 18" Rifle Length, .308 M118 LR, 1-10 Twist 18" Rifle Length, .308 M118 LR, 1-10 Twist, Nitrided 20" Rifle Length, .308 M118 LR, 1-11 Twist 20" Rifle Length, .308 M118 LR, 1-11 Twist, Nitrided 22" Rifle Length, .308 M118 LR, 1-11 Twist 22" Rifle Length, .308 M118 LR, 1-11 Twist, Nitrided Chrome Moly/Chrome Lined: 16" Mid-Length, .308 M118 LR, 1-10 Twist 18" Rifle Length, .308 M118 LR, 1-10 Twist 18" Mid-Length, .308 M118 LR, 1-10 Twist 20" Rifle Length, .308 M118 LR, 1-10 Twist Each of these barrels will be DPMS pattern and hand lapped to ensure maximum bore uniformity. We look forward to reviewing your suggestions and recommendations!
  5. Thanks for the warm welcome everyone! I apologize for the delay in our response, but we have been pretty busy over the last week or two with SHOT Show. We're looking forward to getting our .308 stock model barrels up and running, and might be partnering with a few additional .308 AR manufacturers over the course of 2015 as well! Feel free to send us a PM or email us at contact@criterionbarrels.com with any questions regarding our upcoming product launch. It looks like a good number of you are interested in a rifle length 16" barrel, so I'll see what I can do about running that configuration by the boss! -Josh
