Thanks all. Definitely looking forward to this site. I'm still trying to decide on what exactly I want to build, strongly considering the Aero Precision receivers. Buddy of mine just ordered a Mega MATEN matched set so we'll be building about the same time. He's going high-dollar all out for ultra precision with a PRS stock, some fancy trigger, and custom long and heavy barrel. I'm hoping to keep mine considerably cheaper and more general use. This site is definitely addictive. My wife caught me on it the other day and asked, "are you looking at gun stuff again? Can't you just look at porn like a normal guy?" haha. Gun-porn is better!

Pretty much any search I put in yahoo looking for 308 AR information "suppressed 308", "mid vs rifle gas", "DPMS vs Armalite", "308 buffer weight", "308 barrel length velocity", etc, it always finds posts from this site. From what I've read so far I've found what seams like solid information with very polite and helpful responses, unlike some other forums where you get flamed for being a newbie or because you don't have the latest and greatest high-dollar wiz-bang gadget hanging off your rail. Happy to finally join.

Hi All. Been reading a bunch on here over the past few weeks and finally decided to join just in case I have questions I can't find answers for. I've just started researching a 308 AR build. I've done a few AR-15 builds in in 5.56, 5.56 pistol, 300 BO pistol, and 7.62x39 and was about to do a 6.5 Grendel build when I decided to just step up to a 308. Looking at building an 18" to replace my 7.62x39 and a Rem 700 308 both used for deer/hog hunting, paper targets, and just general fun shooting. I've found some great information so far and look forward to learning more and hopefully one day contributing.
