  1. Well, I found a good deal and I've ended up with a complete G2 pattern rifle for the cost of a gen 1 pattern complete upper. Guess I'll wait out the up coming panic buying and get a gen 1 pattern down the road. Thanks for the help!
  2. I should have just bought one and run with it, now the aero 308 uppers are out of stock.
  3. I'll have to see if I can google some reviews of aero complete 308 uppers this weekend. I'd like a 16-18" barrel. Not sure I'll pull the trigger on buying one this weekend but I know I shouldn't wait much longer and the plastic needs to cool down a bit!
  4. What about aero complete uppers? How's there quality?
  5. I found that in a google search but the only one I find at genesis is an armalite pattern that takes dmps lower parts kits and pmags and is genesis' "gen 2". I don't see one that is a dpms pattern gen 2 lower. Thanks
  6. I should probably start a new topic but does anyone make a gen 2 dpms 80% lower? My searches have been unsuccessful.
  7. Thanks. I forgot to add CMMG to the list.
  8. Hi everyone, Hopefully I got this in the right section. I've got my first 308 80% lower machined out and ready to go. It's a billet one from 80% arms and as I'm sure you all are aware its' a gen 1 pattern. I was planning on getting a dpms complete ap4 upper on this one. However, it appears that they only manufacture the gen II pattern upper these days so I'm expanding my search. As this is my first 308 build I'd prefer a complete upper from a reputable company. I know PSA, fulton make compatible complete uppers, along with a piston upper from one company (drawing a blank right now). Anyone have a list of other companies? Any help would be appreciated! Thanks!!
  9. Do you just run it with soap and water once in a while to "clean" the pins? I dilute Lee lube with water and spray it on the cases. Sometimes it's on there for months before I get around to rerunning them to clean the lube off. Most of the time they come out looking like new but once in a great while they are clean but not as shinny. A quick "cleaning" of the pins and the next batch comes out like new. I don't pre wash and just use cold water.
  10. Because I can! The first ar I ever fired was a 308 DPMS AP4 6-7 years ago. Squeezed off a few rounds out of a rifle that belonged to a guy I'd been shooting the breeze with that day at the range. I had my m14 and was amazed at how little recoil the ap4 had (though since I've started doing my pushups and pull-ups the recoil of the m14 is minimal). I never had any interest in the ar platform until the coward in CT a few years back. Since then I've had fun with the 5.56 but I'm a much bigger fan on 30 cal rifles as I love my Garand and M14. So I'm going to at least build a complete lower, if not the entire rifle. Sure would be nice if there was one standard like there is with the 15 instead of everyone and their brother having their own design.
  11. Thanks for to welcome. I agree with you, I'll pass on KE Arms lowers if I can't find any reviews. I find it hard to believe in the digital age that it's so difficult to find user reviews. People post pictures of what kind of sprinkles they had on their ice cream at lunch so surely they could post something that my be useful or that I would care about, lol. I'm cheap but this is one area I buy once and cry once. But if I could save a few bucks and still get a quality product, then I'd be all over it. Guess I'll have to part with a little extra cash and buy one from a know company.
  12. My reason for wanting a forged is because they can be had cheaper and I'm a cheapskate. I've found what looks to be the forged anodized KE Arms 308 80% lower for less then $90 but just can't find reviews, regardless of the number of searches I do online. I can find very few reviews of the company in general online and it's kind of been a 50/50 then. I have the easy jig for the ar-15 and like it
  13. Anyone have experience with forged 308 DPMS patter 80% lowers? I'd like one that is already anodized. I would also prefer one with safe/fire engravings but have only seen that on billet lowers so far. The forged ones are generally cheaper than the billet and I'm cheap so I'd prefer forged. The cheapest one I've found is the one from KE Arms but haven't been able to find any reviews on them. Anyone use them? Also, I know there isn't any standardization like there is with the little brother so what jig are you using with what lower? Thanks for the help.
